I’ve had my TUV300 for 3 years now and I’ve to say it’s been pretty solid. The beginning was sure, there were some minor niggles, but nothing major. A lot of the bad rep, I think, is due to the early models.

No way, man. The TUV300 has been a nightmare for my cousin. Within the first year it had constant electrical issues, and the suspension needed work. It's been more in the service center than on the road.

It's hit or miss, really. I have seen some TUV300s running like tanks and some which seem to fall apart. I believe Mahindra has had inconsistent quality control.

I'd have to say it's as reliable as you keep it. If you follow the service schedule and don't abuse it too much off road it'll treat you well. It is not one of those delicate city cars.

Later batches got a lot more reliable. If you're buying used, steer clear of the first year models and it should be fine. They learned from their mistakes.

It’s probably a combination of things, cost, maintenance network, local manufacturing. Having a wide service network is very important for police vehicles which need to be on the road 247.

I think that it's the balance of ruggedness and economy. Yes, a Scorpio is tougher, but it’s also thirstier. It doesn’t break the budget but can take rough use.

That could be down to the modular nature of the TUV300. Mahindra is probably easier to outfit with police gear, and probably offers customization for law enforcement.

I believe it's refreshingly different. The TUV300's boxy design stands out in sea of curvy crossovers. It has that old school SUV charm that you don't find anymore.

Nah, it's just ugly. Mahindra tried too hard to make it look tough, and what we’re left with is a refrigerator on wheels. When function over form goes wrong.
