Its exterior design is modern and trendy, with sleek lines and attractive tail lamps that set it apart from other cars in its class. Inside, the car boasts spacious and comfortable interiors, with good legroom and boot space that is sufficient for small families or young couples. While the 814cc engine may lack the power of larger engines, it is well-suited for urban driving and provides a smooth ride. USER OPINION

Our take on this /// Verdict
The Hyundai Eon D-Lite is a compelling option in the entry-level segment, especially for those prioritizing style, comfort, and features at an affordable price. While it may not be the most powerful car in its class, its 814cc three-cylinder petrol engine provides decent performance for city driving and is acceptable on highways. The interiors are a standout, offering a premium feel that is rare in this segment, with good quality plastics and a well-designed dashboard. However, there are some areas of improvement, such as the gear lever vibration and the lack of adjustable headrests in the front seats. Overall, it is a great value-for-money car that balances aesthetics, comfort, and practicality, making it a strong contender against rivals like the Maruti Suzuki Alto.
Price
The Hyundai Eon D-Lite is priced competitively in the Indian market. The ex-showroom price for the D-Lite variant starts around 2.96 lakh, but this can vary slightly depending on the location. When you factor in additional costs such as logistics, registration, insurance, and extended warranty, the on-road price can go up to around 3.54 lakh. This pricing makes the Eon D-Lite an attractive option for budget-conscious buyers who are looking for a feature-rich car without breaking the bank. The price difference between the Eon and its competitors, such as the Maruti Suzuki Alto, is minimal, but the Eon often edges out in terms of features and overall quality.
Latest Updates
Wednesday, 20 November 2024 07:41 AM The Hyundai Eon D-Lite, despite being discontinued, still holds a special place in the hearts of many budget-conscious car buyers in India. This variant was known for its affordability, with an ex-showroom price starting at around Rs. 3.35 lakh. It came with basic yet essential features like front and rear seat belts, engine immobilizer, and a dual trip meter. I think its simplicity was part of its charm, making it a great first car for many.
Friday, 25 October 2024 01:08 PM In terms of engine performance, the Hyundai Eon D-Lite was powered by a 0.8-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine that produced 56 PS and 75 Nm of torque, paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox. This setup provided a decent balance between power and fuel efficiency, with an ARAI mileage of 21.1 kmpl. I believe this engine was well-suited for city driving.
Monday, 30 September 2024 10:38 PM The Hyundai Eon D-Lite featured a manual air conditioner, which was a welcome addition in the hot Indian climate. Additionally, it had front cup holders and externally adjustable ORVMs, which added to the convenience and comfort of the vehicle. These small features made a big difference in everyday driving.
Tuesday, 20 August 2024 08:02 PM Safety features in the Hyundai Eon D-Lite included a driver airbag and child safety locks, which were commendable given its price segment. The vehicle also had front disc brakes and rear drum brakes, ensuring decent stopping power. I think these safety features were a significant selling point.
Monday, 15 July 2024 03:07 PM The Hyundai Eon D-Lite had a compact design with dimensions of 3495 mm in length, 1550 mm in width, and 1500 mm in height. It also boasted a ground clearance of 170 mm, which was helpful in navigating Indian roads. Its compact size made it easy to maneuver in tight city spaces.
Monday, 10 June 2024 10:25 AM In terms of interior space, the Hyundai Eon D-Lite offered a boot space of 215 litres and a fuel capacity of 32 litres. The seating capacity was for five people, although the rear seats were best suited for two adults or three children. I think the space was adequate for a small family or daily commuting.
Saturday, 25 May 2024 01:47 PM The Hyundai Eon D-Lite was available in several color variants, including Star Dust, Fiery Red, Pristine Blue, Sleek Silver, and Polar White. This range of colors allowed buyers to choose a hue that suited their personality. I believe the color options were quite appealing.
Saturday, 20 April 2024 10:01 AM Despite its discontinuation, the Hyundai Eon D-Lite remains a popular choice in the used car market due to its reliability and low maintenance costs. Many owners have reported satisfactory performance over the years, making it a reliable option for those on a budget. I think its durability is a testament to Hyundais engineering.
Friday, 15 March 2024 05:54 PM The waiting time for the Hyundai Eon D-Lite, when it was still in production, typically ranged from 2 to 4 weeks, depending on dealership inventory and production schedules. This relatively short waiting period was a plus for eager buyers.
Saturday, 10 February 2024 10:17 PM Hyundai had planned to upgrade the Eon D-Lite with new features such as a refreshed exterior design and an enhanced infotainment system before its discontinuation. However, these plans never came to fruition. I believe these updates would have kept the model competitive in the market.
Mileage
Thursday, 21 November 2024 12:26 PM The Hyundai Eon D-Lite offers a respectable mileage, which is crucial for buyers concerned about running costs. With a claimed fuel economy of 21.1 kmpl, it is one of the more fuel-efficient options in its segment. In real-world conditions, users have reported an average mileage of around 18 kmpl, which is still quite commendable. This makes the Eon D-Lite a good choice for those who need a reliable and economical vehicle for daily use.

Very stable at high speed, no vibration at all, gear shift is also smooth. Also like that it has a airbag for safety. Eon looks really awesome.

MR SURI I agree with u..One cannot compair Japanese brands with third
rated Korean cars . Japanese brands are at the top..an Hyundai are just
cheap imitation of the original Japanese cars. ..Even our very own
Indian cars are better than Hyundai, kia cars. mr SREEN can vroom in a
cheap Hyundai an we all should not bother for that. I own a MERCc200,a

Comfort is the main priority when one wants to buy a car. The Hyundai
Eon certainly does not fit in this criteria. It is possibly the most
uncomfortable car there is. Really bad suspension & highly cramped
interiors.

I bought Hyundai Eon Sportz model in Nov 2011. My main reason to buy it was the high mileage, which the company advertised to be 23+ KMs per litre. But it was a big disappointment. With AC ON, the mileage is close to 15 KMs on highway and 12 KMs in city. The engine makes starving sound on all gears and the pickup is very poor. If you accelerate fast, the engine misses few strokes. My place is slightly hilly and the car has difficulty in climbing even a small slope. I have a 1996 model Maruti 800, which has more pickup in third gear than Eon in first gear, and it gives 15 KMs in city. Overall, a very big disappointment!!

After seeing lots of comments from the EON owners i think i should also tell u guys my experience with it.... My car was running on petrol for the first month and trust me i never expected such good results, it was giving me an average of 17 KMPL on AC... and after installing CNG kit now its giving me an average of 22 KMPL what else i could ask for... the handling is awesome but yes lot of vibration from the gear box, but its ok... interiors are just awesome and AC works brilliantly...

Well ofcourse its a gr8 car as far as its Look is concerned.Gr8 shape, nyce outline, excelnt colors . Bt this car starts vibrating as it jumps da 90 kmph mark. And same is the case with its gears. Its tight leg space makes long journey uncomfortable. So 4m ma syd its jst 2 out of 5 for dis car.

"VERY BAD AVERAGE" My Hyndai Eon Sportz Petrol is giving only 12.8 KMPL Milage without AC..... It was my very bad decision to buy this Car. Hyndai is claiming 21 KMPL. But I think with AC this Car will give ONLY 10 KILOMETER PER LITER AVERAGE.....Means NO VALUE FOR MONEY. I am planing to go in CONSUMER FORUM very soon... Sunil Shrivastava, INDORE. I owned EOn Magna(0) maharaja red on 27/11/2011 @ 3.79 on road price and would like to tell u that it is delivering more than expected. Its really a car which has immense kinetic to collapse the competitors. Driving is quite smooth, power is upto the mark. Its one of the needed feature is gear shift indicator which could make ur driving more economical. The feel of driving could be compared to i10. the outer and inner finish and ergonomics could be compared to any car more than the price of EON. To compare monotonous alto with this delectable car is not worthy.... will update u much more in coming days....

It is human and natural to defend and own their decision. Engine and Gear Box is the heart and lung of a car and I have not seen any giving good reviews. I have personally experienced the car and I do not have any impression on the Gear Box and Engine. It is a Glamorous looking car and will behave initially. Let us see on the long run. That is where Japanese Excel. Good Luck and my best wishes for Eon owners.

Hai friends, I would like to share with you my experience. I bought my Hyundai EON sportz on 25th of october. And it was my first car. Till the first service i was getting only mileage of 13kmpl and most drive was through city. So i was not happy but at the same time cannot complaint too much also. Then i went out with my family for a road trip. Around 230km one side. I filled the tank with 23litres of petrol and set the trip to zero. While filling the petrol my tank gauge was showing only one bar. And when i reached back home i checked the trip and it was showing 480km and the tank gauge was showing last bar and not blinging, that means not reserve. My experince is that i had a nice drive with no trouble of gear shifting or any other. The car pick up was also ok,top speed 110kmph(smooth). And mileage also was great i got 20+kmpl. Speed: mostly 60kmph-80kmph. And top speed 110kmph. Traffic: not much, mostly highway. Mileage: 20+kmpl (A/C on for cooling sometime and off for sometime and continuing the same procedure) So friends this is my experience with the new Hyundai Eon. I am happy of my car's performance and mileage. Only thing i noticed is the shock, need to improve a little so as to have more comfort. Thank you for reading...

Again Jinujraj,I am a mechanical engineer and Ph.D research scholar, field of interest and specialization in automobile engg, I have completed 600km in my EON, Greater mileage ,superb performance in highways,PLEASE DON'T BELIEVE ANY BAD THANKS ABOUT EON.FIRST TAKE A TEST DRIVE.Really it is a GREAT CAR than other competitors.Power steering is very good than other 800cc segments.Great job is done by HYUNDAI.My friends who are having the 800cc car did the test drive in my EON, resulted smooth handling and good response delivered by eon engine. No Engine noise and gear shifting problems.RIGHT CAR FOR THE RIGHT COST. EON IS SLIGHTLY costlier than other 800cc's.But HYUNDAI made good and valuable interior, exterior, engine and alternator management systems etc...than other 800cc's for the right cost. Finally GOOD VALUE FOR MONEY.THANKS.

Got it on 22nd Oct. Drove few Hundred KM.Extraordinary Millage. No problems in Gear shift etc. At 110 speed no vibrations, smooth ride is noticed. Very comfort. Spacious. Eye stealing looks. Proud to be owner of HYUNDAI EON. i am amazed dont go for filthy on comments we had used it and we know very well then them ,

dear all indians the hyundai EON is a real failier model car. the company said 21.1kmph but its not true and then engine vibration is feel like diesel engine and gear shift also not easy. The only one plus is the out look. Rear seat only for childrens.Ac also not working prperly. Last one month sales only 700 cars. The company will be reduse the price from january and the same time they delete some features also. So dont buy the car.

PLEASE LISTEN TO THE WARNING BELLS if you are thinking to buy EON !!!I purchased the super hyped EON (Magna-O) on very same day it was launched in MUMBAI-24th Oct.2011.Paying FULL AMOUNT UPFRONT. But I was sold a DEFECTIVE CAR & CHEATED-AS FROM the very next Day- 25th Oct my Car showed defects/faults of Noise,Vibrations,& Steering. Several Complaints registered with Showroom- also with HMIL directly :SR Acknowledgement : 1-65271907 Dated : November 4,2011SR Acknowledgement : 1-67280420 Dated : November7,2011-& on their CALL CENTER- Complaint No:1-67550661 dated 8th Nov.2011It was sent TWICE sent for so-called repairs /rectifications by showroom staff. I have NOT taken back the delivery of my car.

As every time it comes back from w/shop new trouble springs up. Latest being FAILURE OF POWER STEERING.!!In spite of my taking COMPARATIVE TEST DRIVES with their other EON MAGNA CARS in presence of showroom personnel- who have admitted the faults IN MY CAR – verbally. YET-, NO LOGICAL CONCLUSION / SOLUTION APPEARS IN SIGHT.I just get standard replies- nothing wrong with car-COME & TAKE BACK YOUR CAR. I have refused to accept delivery.

I INSIST ON A REPLACEMENT OR A REFUND, as company Technician now not ready to take comparative Test drives,in my presence, between their other EON MAGNA (O)Test Vehicle & My car (Knowing defects are truly be there !!) They have NOT issued any OK CERTIFICATE-so can get independent & professional quality/performance Surveyed

Why ?? I HAVE BEEN VERY FRUSTRATED WHEN BRAND NEW CAR LESS THAN 100 KMS RUN DEVELOPS FAULTS /DEFECTS& THEY MULTIPLY EVERY VISIT TO WORKSHOP !!. DOES ONE BUY BRAND NEW CAR -AT THE AGE OF 70 YEARS (MY AGE) FOR THIS MENTAL TORCH-ER,HARASSMENT,TENSIONS ,TRAUMA & LOSS OF MONEY ??? IN SHORT I WOULD GIVE OVERALL A VERY VERY NEGATIVE REVIEW. REFRAIN FROM BUYING EON !!! I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND TO ANYONE TO BUY EON ! IT DID NOT AT ALL MEET MY EXPECTATIONS SUBHASH THAKKER

I am proud owner of Hynduai Eon Magna (O). I would like to mention few good things and few bad things. Its good for looks, space, features and mileage. Bad for pick up, gear shift and engine noise. But it is natural every three cylinder car makes some sort of noise. Pick up you can't expect from 800 cc cars. Fuel efficiency is excellent I am getting around 17-18 km. per liter in the city. It has got all the features of a good car power windows, music system, OSRVM Internally adjustable, Tilt Steering, Manual Central Locking. What more you can expect in a price of 3.5 lakhs. Alto K10 is also good but you have to compromise on space and looks. When you sit inside eon with closed doors, you can't hear engine noise. I love it and assure you will also love it if can compromise on pick up.

Dear Sreen Vroom,Sad to know that you are not in line with reality and do not know what is happening globally. Let me educate you with a local example not an international which you seem not exposed to. Hyundai is a Third world brand, It sells because it is value for money being 30% to 40% less than a comparable product. Local example. National, Hitachi, airconditioners sell at around 20 k in a market where LG Samsung sells at 14k and it sells well at 14k. Vale for money. Pls compare Sony Electronics with LG Samsung and the koreans sell at 30% less. Hyundai has taken advantage of Indians ignorance and are pricing at par in certain cases above Japanese car. Talk to your friends in Middle Esat, Egypt, Africa, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia and they will tell you the real price and image of Korean cars. In Middle Esat Daewoo Ceilo was selling at Rs 21/2 lakh equivalent when it was sold in India as a luxury car at near 7 lakh and you know the fate of Daewoo. End is not too far for Hyundai, cheating Indian Consumers selling inferior and third world cars at exorbitant prices and end is not too far for the koreans in the Indian market.

At first instant we thought we'l book 2 cars one for my dad nd one for my wife.Fludic design ,interior ,quality ,space(for the price and purpose)was exceptional ././././././ BUT GREAT GREAT DISAPPOINTMENT on driving the car ,the car started knocking on every shift of gear as if I was learning to drive as though I dint know to release the clutch,as if i was learning to drive my dads old old Matador Diesel convert AMBY,I drive a FORD FIESTA and Maruthi 800 i'v been driving for the past 30 years, enjoy driving and a automobile enthusiast,my wife and son were also not comfortable sitting at the rear. Dear Hyundai I did expect a lot from you for your 13 yrs of experience in India, tomorrow I am going to travel 120 km just to drive the other variants (DROVE SPORTZ) I pray that the other variants should not have such complaint at all ,I like Hyundai Cars want to own VERNA TRANSFORM very soon ,I request Hyundai to get serious before launching the car and rectify this major issue.

Bhai I was impressed by looks and styling of eon. I had driven santro for 5 years and Alto for one year. when I took test drive of eon I was shocked to see gear rattling and vibrating like a vintage car.when i asked the service engineer(at Charisma Hyundai Chandigarh) about it he said that Alto alto gear also vibrates like this. When I showed him the gear of Alto not vibrating he felt sorry and miserable. What more reviews you Need?. Go far I ten with a official discouynt of 35000/- nor go for K10

Dear All, Just read few comments from readers who had access to internet but not cars. Most of them are not sure what they want to comment. Some comment about the absence of Power Steering, It is the for the driver to decide whether or not we can adjust without P.Steering. Do you know Maruti 800 clicked despite no P.S. aBOUT THE MAKE, Hyundai is the second largest selling brand in India after Maruti Suzuki which has already completed Silver Jubilee and also a strong political party supporting it - an Open secret.

Hyundai also won the trust of many Indians, the proof of it being it has been successful in the small car segment with Santro,i10 and in the sedan class with Accent, Verna and did fairly good presence with Sonata and Tuscon in other segments whereas Maruti is still struggling to get out of its Small Car Maker Image. Thanks to Maruti Suzuki's early start and presence in all major towns along with good political support, it has is where it is today. With its latest designing techniques and innovations, Hyundai exports twice more cars than the market leader Maruti sells.

A proof of global acceptence for the MAKER. Looking at the initiative, hyundai is here,SET and ready to lead with Innovation. Eon will certainly have no rival in near future with the kind of design, features and performance it offers at this ROCK BOTTOM PRICE. people who have commented about the price certainly are those who buy 2nd/3rd hand cars or settle for Marutis & Nanos. Eon will certainly win hearts and also double space in many households, the model with high class/segment design will be unrivaled.

Maruti's best seller Alto doesnot have design to talk about nor space to settle. Nor its Swift model can match the looks of i20. Long live Hyundai with so many futuristic, designs. I will go for Eon. People, do not comment about Mercedes Benz, with budget of Maruti 800 in your pocket and do not comment until you have personally driven the car a couple of times. Sitting in a Cab/Auto will not entitle you to comment on hardwork and lot of research done by these companies. And also readers have become much educated about the cars and the features they prefer in their cars. We can judge the layman from the comments he writes and we care a damn for them.

All the self proclaimed judges can become one if they deserve ( with the correct judgement ) not from their desire to become one. If you can afford internet usage for an hour with Rs. 20, do not judge a product worth lakhs with R&D running into billions. Please GIVE YOUR FEEDBACK NOT opinion.
