Ford Fusion ABS

About
The Ford Fusion ABS is a hatchback that stands out for its passenger comfort and practicality. It features engines ranging from 1399 cc to 1596 cc, both in petrol and diesel options, all paired with manual transmissions. The car boasts a high stance, which aids in easy entry and exit, and provides a commanding view from the drivers seat. The interior is equipped with useful storage spaces, including cubbyholes and a lift-up front passenger seat base for additional storage. The rear seats offer ample width, headroom, and legroom, and the 6040 splitfolding rear seats enhance the luggage-carrying capability. While the plastics and seat fabric may feel a bit downmarket, the overall package of comfort, stability, and practicality makes the Ford Fusion a worthy consideration for those looking for a reliable family car.

USER OPINION

Our take on this /// Verdict
The Ford Fusion ABS, in my opinion, is a solid choice for those seeking a blend of comfort, practicality, and stability on Indian roads. One of its standout features is the exceptional passenger comfort it offers, despite being a hatchback that is shorter than many saloons in its class. The interior space is generous, with comfortable seating and ample legroom, making it an excellent option for family use. However, the equipment levels are somewhat modest, with essential features like an audio system and safety options such as ABS and airbags available only in certain variants. The high-speed driving manners are impressive, with the car feeling very stable even at speeds of 120 kmph. While it may not be the most feature-rich car in its segment, its big-car feel and comfort make it a compelling option for those prioritizing these aspects.
Price
The Ford Fusion ABS was priced competitively in the Indian market, with ex-showroom prices ranging from Rs. 5.94 lakh to Rs. 6.83 lakh, depending on the variant. The base model, the Fusion 1.6 Duratec Petrol, started at Rs. 5.94 lakh, while the top-of-the-line Fusion Plus 1.4 TDCi Diesel ABS was priced at Rs. 6.83 lakh. On-road prices would have been slightly higher, factoring in additional costs such as registration, insurance, and other local taxes. Given its features and performance, the Fusion offered good value for money, especially considering its comfort and practicality.
Mileage
Friday, 22 November 2024 01:58 PM The Ford Fusion ABS offers respectable mileage figures, which can be a significant factor in the buying decision for many Indian consumers. The petrol variants deliver a mileage of 13.6 kmpl, while the diesel variants are more fuel-efficient, offering up to 17.7 kmpl. These figures are quite competitive in the segment and suggest that the Fusion can provide reasonable running costs, especially for those who opt for the diesel version.

Ford Fusion The Perfect Car

I bought the vehicle as a second hand 2009 model which had clocked 1.6 lac kms in the year 2013. Till date there is no hassle. Service is done by Ford Dealership, Coimbatore. Now I have clocked 2.6 lac kms, the cruising speed in highway is 120 plus kmph. The stability is awesome. Also, the mileage 18 kpl plus. With regard to the mechanical and suspension spares it's available with the dealership it self. Head light assembly and Danger light assembly are not available. The maintenance cost is cheap. It's an awesome vehicle.

Best Features: Engine, Transmission and Suspension

Pros: It's look, built quality and performance

Cons: Availability of certain spares

Good & bad on ford fusion

I recently bought a used fusion diesel. I like the vehicles spacious interiors and ride comfort. Mileage is 15 km/h. It is a pleasure on highways. So far I drove it to a max 90km/h. Wish the company would relaunch this model. Having a tough time procuring spares for the vehicle. The gear shifts at lower speeds are not smooth. Wonder if anyone could suggest me a solution on this. AC is adequate.

Best Features: Roomy interiors. Easy for elders to sit and come out.

Pros: Good ride comfort, Suitable for highway rides. Spacious seating capacity. Decent boot space

Cons: Spares availability is big challenge. Gear changes are not smooth during low speed.

Got highway mileage up to 17.5 KMPL on a stretch of 300 KM's. Ford introduced this semi SUV too early when the market was highly sedan oriented in this segment and brought in diesel version too late, probably Ford India was too excited with the success of Ford Fiesta in mid-2000. Ford could not keep competition pressures and lost both models in a race with Hyundai & others.

Best Features: Easy entry exit for a 6' sardar, reasonable boot space for 4 passengers, carries wheel chair comfortably.

Pros: Early version of semi SUV that probably was too early in sedan dominated Indian market in 2004.

Cons: Manufacturer disowned it earlier than the prospects in Indian market.
