Latest Updates
Thursday, 06 October 2022 06:08 PM The 2010 Ford Fusion has been noted for its extensive mechanical issues, including power steering problems and transmission failures. These issues often arise around the 100,000-mile mark and can be costly to repair. I think its crucial for potential buyers to be aware of these potential pitfalls before making a purchase.
Thursday, 01 September 2022 04:54 PM Ford introduced several updates for the 2010 Fusion, including a new 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine and a more powerful 3.5-liter V6 engine for the Sport model. These changes aimed to improve both power and fuel efficiency. I believe these updates made the 2010 Fusion a more competitive midsize sedan.
Monday, 15 August 2022 01:23 PM The 2010 Ford Fusion Sport AWD features a 3.5-liter V6 engine, which provides a significant boost in power compared to other Fusion models. It can hit 60 mph in 6.7 seconds and has a governed top speed of 126 mph. However, the all-wheel drive system slightly reduces the extra power gain.
Wednesday, 20 July 2022 09:47 AM Owners of the 2010 Ford Fusion have reported various brake-related issues, such as premature pad and rotor wear, and problems with the antilock system. Regular maintenance is essential to avoid these costly repairs. I think its important for owners to keep a close eye on brake health.
Wednesday, 01 June 2022 08:57 PM The 2010 Ford Fusion received a refreshed exterior and interior design, which was well-received for its improved ergonomics and attractive layout. However, the standard 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine was criticized for its raspy note under hard acceleration.
Monday, 16 May 2022 12:19 AM Fords Sync system, available in the 2010 Fusion, was praised for its user-friendly interface and integration with various multimedia devices. This feature was a significant upgrade and enhanced the overall driving experience. I think the Sync system was a smart move by Ford to stay competitive.
Sunday, 10 April 2022 06:38 PM The 2010 Ford Fusion had several recalls, including a severe one related to the fuel tank, which could crack and lead to a fire. Ford addressed these issues by replacing the fuel tanks in affected models. Its crucial for owners to check if their vehicle was part of these recalls.
Friday, 25 March 2022 09:34 AM Despite its performance improvements, the 2010 Ford Fusion Sport AWD had some drawbacks, such as a less-than-ideal transmission and a loud, raspy engine note. The interior design, while visually appealing, was also criticized for its loud and mismatched color scheme.
Sunday, 20 February 2022 05:20 PM The 2010 Ford Fusion models, especially the Sport trim, offered enhanced handling and a more comfortable ride due to the stiffer suspension and larger 18-inch alloy wheels. However, this came at the cost of slightly lower fuel economy.
Saturday, 15 January 2022 08:28 AM The reliability of the 2010 Ford Fusion is a significant concern, with many owners reporting issues that arise around 150,000 miles. Regular maintenance is key, but even then, the vehicles lifespan is shorter compared to other midsize sedans. I think potential buyers should weigh these factors carefully.

The car has a boot space of 337 litres and had a 13-15 kmpl city mileage. The car can be said to be a rival to Maruti Swift and Hyundai i20 in the previous generation hatchback segment.

Ford Fusion (2010) Review

Expert Review by Maxabout

Ford Fusion is a hatchback from Ford that was discontinued in 2010 due to lack of sale and also the other reason may be that Ford waited a little too long to launch Fusion's diesel version. The exterior of Fusion gives a strong and robust feeling with wide windshield, angular front headlights and smart front fog lights. In between them is a wide grille with the logo of Ford, 15-inch alloy wheels with tubeless tyres, power windows, stylish rear tail lights and trendy rear wiper and defogger. The interior of Fusion is also made for full comfort of the passengers except the material used for seats and dashboard which looks quite cheap and dull. Its interior is lashed with spacious dashboard with cup holders, power steering which can also be adjusted according to your preferences, power door locks, AC, central locking and tachometer. The boot space of the car is 337 litres.

Also the front and rear track are 1484mm and 1444mm respectively and the hatchback provides with the seating capacity of five people comfortably. Ford Fusion comes with both petrol and diesel engines. The 1596cc 1.6L DOHC four cylinder four valve/cylinder in-line Multi-Point Petrol Injection engine generates a maximum power of 99.6 bhp at 6500 rpm and a maximum torque of 146 Nm at 3400 rpm and is mated with a five speed manual gearbox. This petrol engine gives a mileage of 9.6 kmpl in the cities and 14.9 kmpl on the highways with the top speed of 160kmph and reaches 0-100kmph mark in 12.9 seconds. On the other hand, the 1399cc 1.4L TDCi SOHC four cylinder two valve/cylinder in-line High Pressure Common Rail Diesel engine generates a maximum power of 68 bhp at 4000 rpm and a maximum torque of 160 Nm at 2000 rpm and is mated with a five speed manual gearbox. This diesel engine produces a mileage of 13.5 kmpl in the cities and 19 kmpl on the highways with the top speed of 158 kmph and reaches 0-100 kmph mark in 7.65 seconds.

As far as safety of the passengers is concerned, it doesn't provide Airbags neither for passengers nor for driver which is a problem factor but it is equipped with ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System), immobilizer and child safety locks, thus providing an average amount of safety. The front suspension of Fusion is equipped with independent McPherson strut with offset coil spring units and lower L-arms with optimised bushes which are mounted on separate cross member with stabiliser bar, while the rear suspension is equipped with semi-independent heavy duty twist beam with low package height coil springs and separate twin-tube dampers. Fusion has 258mm ventilated disk brakes at front and 203mm self-adjusting drum brakes at rear.

It also has a good ground clearance of 198mm which saves you from large speed breakers and potholes of Indian roads and has a minimum turning radius of 4.9m which helps in cutting across city traffic smoothly and easily. It has a fuel tank capacity of 45 litres and wheelbase of 2486mm. Fusion has a width of 1720mm, height of 1529mm and length of 3989mm (diesel) and 4018mm (petrol) as its dimension. Ford Fusion has four variants which are 1.4 TDCi Diesel (2007-2010), Diesel Plus (2009-2010), 1.6 DOHC Petrol (2004-2010) and Petrol Plus (2009-2010). It was available in six beautiful shades which are Panther Black, Moondust Silver, Paprika Red, Mystic Wine, Brush Steel and Diamond White. It has a price range between INR 6-7lakhs. Overall, Fusion is a good combination of comfort, performance, power, rigidness but lacks in interior quality, safety and entertainment and has high maintenance cost.

I bought the vehicle as a second hand 2009 model which had clocked 1.6 lac kms in the year 2013. Till date there is no hassle. Service is done by Ford Dealership, Coimbatore. Now I have clocked 2.6 lac kms, the cruising speed in highway is 120 plus kmph. The stability is awesome. Also, the mileage 18 kpl plus. With regard to the mechanical and suspension spares it's available with the dealership it self. Head light assembly and Danger light assembly are not available. The maintenance cost is cheap. It's an awesome vehicle.

Best Features: Engine, Transmission and Suspension

Pros: It's look, built quality and performance

Cons: Availability of certain spares

Good & bad on ford fusion

I recently bought a used fusion diesel. I like the vehicles spacious interiors and ride comfort. Mileage is 15 km/h. It is a pleasure on highways. So far I drove it to a max 90km/h. Wish the company would relaunch this model. Having a tough time procuring spares for the vehicle. The gear shifts at lower speeds are not smooth. Wonder if anyone could suggest me a solution on this. AC is adequate.

Best Features: Roomy interiors. Easy for elders to sit and come out.

Pros: Good ride comfort, Suitable for highway rides. Spacious seating capacity. Decent boot space

Cons: Spares availability is big challenge. Gear changes are not smooth during low speed.

Got highway mileage up to 17.5 KMPL on a stretch of 300 KM's. Ford introduced this semi SUV too early when the market was highly sedan oriented in this segment and brought in diesel version too late, probably Ford India was too excited with the success of Ford Fiesta in mid-2000. Ford could not keep competition pressures and lost both models in a race with Hyundai & others.

Best Features: Easy entry exit for a 6' sardar, reasonable boot space for 4 passengers, carries wheel chair comfortably.

Pros: Early version of semi SUV that probably was too early in sedan dominated Indian market in 2004.

Cons: Manufacturer disowned it earlier than the prospects in Indian market.
