Our Verdict

Expert opinion and recommendation

The Yamaha YBR 125 is a solid choice for riders seeking a commuter motorcycle that balances efficiency, reliability, and comfort. Its 123cc air-cooled engine delivers a smooth and manageable 10.7 bhp, making it easy to handle in city traffic while providing enough power for occasional highway rides. The build quality and ergonomics are commendable, offering comfortable seating and good ground clearance, which suits Indian road conditions well. The front disc brake enhances safety and control, a crucial feature for urban riding. While the 4-speed gearbox may feel basic compared to competitors with 5-speed units, it contributes to simplicity and ease of use for beginners. Its fuel efficiency is impressive for a bike in this segment, and the reputation of Yamaha for durability adds to the bike’s appeal. However, the YBR 125 faces stiff competition from other 125cc models offering modern styling and features. If you prioritize ease of maintenance and a dependable commuter, the YBR 125 remains a compelling option. Overall, it strikes a good balance between performance, mileage, and cost for the Indian commuter market.
