Okinawa Praise
About
The Okinawa Praise Pro is an electric scooter that boasts several modern features but struggles with some fundamental issues. Styling-wise, it remains largely unchanged from its predecessor, with the addition of four new color options. It features LED headlights, a digital instrument cluster, central locking with anti-theft alarm, keyless entry, and a find my scooter functionality. However, the instrument console can be hard to read in direct sunlight, and the lack of underseat storage due to the battery pack is a significant practicality issue. The scooter is powered by a 2.08kWh Lithium-ion battery feeding a 2.7kW electric motor, offering a top speed of 57 kmph. While it has some appealing aspects like its eco-friendly nature and feature-rich profile, it falls short in terms of ride comfort, ergonomics, and overall value for money.

Our take on this /// Verdict
The Okinawa Praise Pro, while attempting to regain its footing in the competitive Indian electric scooter market, faces several challenges. Despite its updated features and good build quality, the scooter lacks in several key areas. The ride quality is harsh due to stiff suspension, and the ergonomics are not ideal, especially for taller riders. The performance, though adequate, does not stand out, and the range, although respectable, falls short of the claimed figures in real-world conditions. The absence of underseat storage and issues with customer service and spare parts availability further dent its appeal. With a price tag of Rs 99,645 (ex-showroom), which is on the higher side especially after being dropped from the FAME II subsidy list, recommending the Praise Pro becomes difficult unless you prioritize its eco-friendly and feature-rich aspects.
Price
The Okinawa Praise Pro is priced at Rs 99,645 ex-showroom in India, which is a significant factor to consider, especially given the current market dynamics. After being removed from the Government of Indias FAME II subsidy list, the scooters price becomes less competitive. On-road prices can vary depending on the state and local taxes, but you can expect to add around Rs 10,000 to Rs 15,000 to the ex-showroom price, bringing the total to around Rs 109,645 to Rs 114,645. This pricing makes it challenging for the Praise Pro to stand out against other electric scooters in the market that offer similar or better features at a lower cost.
Latest Updates

Okinawa Autotech has introduced the updated Praise Pro electric scooter in India, priced at Rs. 99,645 (ex-showroom). The scooter features a removable 2.08kWh Lithium-ion battery, LED headlights, a digital instrument cluster, and a USB charging port. However, it lacks underseat storage due to the battery pack. I believe the pricing is a bit steep considering the features and performance.

Okinawa Praise Pro has been updated with critical features such as central locking with anti-theft alarm, keyless entry, and a find my scooter functionality. The scooter retains its 2.7kW electric motor and offers two ride modes – Eco and Sport – along with a Turbo mode for a temporary boost. I believe these updates make the scooter more user-friendly, but the lack of significant performance improvements is a drawback.

Okinawa has launched new color options for its Praise series electric scooters, including the Praise Pro and iPraise+. This move is part of the companys effort to enhance the visual appeal of its vehicles. I think the new colors will attract more buyers, especially those looking for stylish electric scooters.

Okinawa Autotech announced that the Praise Pro electric scooter promises a low running cost of 20 paise/km, making it more economical than conventional ICE scooters. The Praise Pro is positioned below the flagship iPraise and competes with 125 cc scooters like the Honda Grazia and TVS NTorq 125. I think this cost efficiency will be a major selling point for budget-conscious buyers.

Okinawa successfully completed a trip to Leh with its Praise e-Scooter, becoming the first electric two-wheeler brand to reach Khardung La Pass, one of the highest motorable roads. This feat highlights the scooters endurance and reliability. I believe this achievement will boost consumer confidence in Okinawas electric scooters.
Mileage
Tuesday, 19 November 2024 06:04 AM
The mileage of the Okinawa Praise Pro is a mixed bag. Okinawa claims an ARAI-tested range of 81 km on a full charge, but real-world tests suggest this figure may not be entirely accurate. In practical use, users have reported ranges varying from 52 km to around 77 km, depending on the ride mode and conditions. The scooter offers two main ride modes Eco and Sport with an additional Turbo mode for a brief speed boost. However, the actual range achieved is often lower than the claimed figures, which could be a disappointment for those relying on it for daily commutes.
