Our take on this /// Verdict
The Kabira Mobility KM3000 is an intriguing entry into the Indian electric motorcycle market, but it falls short in several critical areas. While it boasts impressive performance, with a top speed of 120 kmph and a 0-100 kmph acceleration time of 9.5 seconds, the overall build quality and finish are subpar. The bikes ride quality, though slightly better on the KM3000 compared to the KM4000, is still marred by stiff suspension and a vague front end, which can make cornering precarious. The braking system, particularly the front brake, lacks the necessary bite, making it a safety concern. Despite these issues, the KM3000s smooth throttle response and the availability of multiple riding modes (Eco, City, Sports, Parking, and Reverse) are positives. However, for a vehicle that promises so much, the glaring build quality issues and safety concerns make it a hard sell until these are addressed.
Price
The Kabira Mobility KM3000 is priced competitively in the Indian market, starting from Rs. 1,74,000 for the base variant (excluding FAME 2 subsidy and for ex-showroom Goa). The top-end variant, the KM3000-V, comes with a higher capacity battery and is priced slightly higher. On-road prices will vary depending on the state and local taxes, but you can expect to pay around Rs. 1.9 lakh to Rs. 2.1 lakh for the base model and upwards of Rs. 2.2 lakh for the top variant. While the pricing is attractive, especially considering the government subsidies for electric vehicles, the value for money is somewhat diminished by the bikes quality and safety issues.

Kabira Mobility has launched a Dussehra Festive Campaign, offering discounts and special benefits on its KM3000 and KM4000 Mark 2 models. The campaign, running from October 10 to November 15, 2024, includes discounts, extended warranties, and prizes. This move is likely to boost sales during the festive season. I think this is a great strategy to attract more buyers and clear out inventory before the year ends.

Kabira Mobility has started deliveries of the KM3000 across India, with the bikes being delivered through its extensive dealer network. The company has also ramped up production from its mega factory at Dharwad, Karnataka, since March 2022. This expansion indicates strong demand and the companys commitment to meeting it. I believe this is a significant milestone for Kabira Mobility, showing their capability to scale production and delivery.

The KM3000 Mark-II features a 12kW In-Hub Powertrain developed in collaboration with Foxconn, offering superior acceleration and speed. It also boasts a modular battery pack, high-speed onboard charger, and a dual combined braking system for enhanced safety. These technological advancements make the KM3000 a compelling option in the electric two-wheeler market. I think the integration of such advanced technology sets a new standard for electric bikes in India.

Kabira Mobility received over 6,000 bookings for the KM3000 and KM4000 electric bikes within just four days of their launch. This overwhelming response highlights the growing interest in electric vehicles in India. Deliveries of these bikes began on May 1, 2021. I believe this strong initial response is a positive sign for the adoption of electric vehicles in the country.

The KM3000 is priced starting at Rs. 1,74,000 (ex-showroom Goa, excluding Fame 2 subsidy) and comes in two variants: the standard KM3000 and the top-end KM3000-V. The bike features a 5-inch TFT instrument console, five riding modes, and advanced safety features like bulb projector headlights and LED indicators. This pricing and feature set make it an attractive option for those looking for a high-performance electric bike. I think the pricing is competitive, especially considering the features and performance offered.
Mileage
Monday, 18 November 2024 02:38 PM
The mileage of the Kabira Mobility KM3000 is one of its stronger points, with a claimed range of up to 201 km on a single charge for the top-end variant and 178 km for the base variant. This range is achieved through the use of a 5.15 kWh lithium-ion battery in the KM3000-V and a 4.1 kWh battery in the base model. Charging times are reasonable, with the top-end variant taking around 3 hours and 20 minutes to fully charge using a 1.5 kW on-board charger. The bikes efficiency and range make it a viable option for daily commuting and short trips, but real-world mileage may vary based on riding conditions and modes used.
