Husqvarna Svartpilen 250

About
The Husqvarna Svartpilen 250 is a scrambler-style motorcycle that stands out with its retro-inspired design and modern performance credentials. Powered by a 248.8cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine, it produces 30 PS of power and 24 Nm of torque, making it suitable for both city riding and highway cruises. The engine is paired with a six-speed gearbox and a slipper clutch, enhancing its sporty persona. The motorcycle features a tall single-piece handlebar and centre-set footpegs, providing a comfortable riding triangle for commuting and brief off-road stints. The WP Apex suspension and ByBre braking setup ensure good handling and braking performance. However, the tall seat height and limited ground clearance are notable limitations. The Svartpilen 250 also comes with dual-channel ABS and the option to deactivate the rear ABS for some sliding action, adding to its appeal for enthusiasts. Overall, it offers a unique blend of style, performance, and practicality, making it an attractive choice for riders looking for something different in the 250cc segment.

Our take on this /// Verdict
The Husqvarna Svartpilen 250 is a compelling package for those seeking a unique blend of style, performance, and versatility. Its retro-styled design is instantly desirable, and the engine, borrowed from the KTM 250 Duke, is rev-friendly and engaging, particularly above 6,000rpm. The motorcycles handling is agile and comfortable, thanks to its stiff suspension and light weight, making it a joy to navigate through both city traffic and highway cruises. However, it has its drawbacks, such as the tall seat height of 842mm, which can be challenging for shorter riders, and the limited ground clearance of 149mm, which may cause issues over speed bumps. Additionally, the narrow seat and rear-set footpegs make it less practical for pillion riders. Despite these limitations, the Svartpilen 250s performance, build quality, and feature list make it a strong contender in the entry-level neo-classic performance motorcycle segment.
Price
The Husqvarna Svartpilen 250 is priced competitively in the Indian market. The ex-showroom price for this model is around 2.05 lakh, although this can vary slightly depending on the region. When you factor in the on-road costs, including registration, insurance, and other charges, the price can go up to approximately 2.40 lakh to 2.50 lakh. This pricing positions the Svartpilen 250 favorably against its rivals, such as the KTM 250 Duke, while offering a distinct styling and riding experience. The value for money is enhanced by the quality of components, including the WP Apex suspension and the ByBre braking setup, which are typically found in higher-end motorcycles.
2024 Husqvarna Svartpilen 250 on road price is Rs 2.59 lakh in Delhi, Rs 2.68 lakh in Mumbai, Rs 2.62 lakh in Kolkata and Rs 2.66 lakh in Chennai. The prices mentioned here are approximate and we suggest you contact your nearest Husqvarna dealership to get the exact on-road price quote in your city.

Mileage
Tuesday, 19 November 2024 01:17 AM The mileage of the Husqvarna Svartpilen 250 is respectable, given its performance-oriented nature. With an ARAI-certified fuel economy of approximately 32 kmpl, this motorcycle can travel around 300 kilometers on a single fill-up of its 9.5-liter fuel tank. In real-world conditions, the mileage can vary between 26 to 30 kmpl, depending on riding style and road conditions. This makes the Svartpilen 250 a viable option for daily commuting and occasional long rides, though it may not be the most fuel-efficient choice in its class. Husqvarna build quality can be inconsistent, but it’s something they’re working hard to fix. Like many owners, MCN has experienced problems with it long-term test bikes over the years, but you’ll equally find lots of happy customers enjoying miles of trouble-free fun.

The Svartpilen (black arrow, hence the stealth black paintjob) 701 is heavily based on the KTM 690 Duke’s rolling tubular steel chassis and 692.7cc single cylinder motor. With exhaust, airbox and mapping tweaks, the bike now makes 74bhp - up two ponies on the donor engine. That makes the Svartpilen 701 the most powerful production single cylinder money can buy. It’s hard not to be impressed by the Husqvarna's thumping motor - behaving more like a racy, free-revving twin than what you’d expect a ploddy single to be.
