Honda has silently removed the X-Blade from its official India website, indicating that the model has been discontinued. This move reduces Hondas 160cc motorcycle offerings to just the Unicorn and the SP160. The X-Blades poor sales performance in the Indian market likely contributed to this decision. I think this was an expected move given the bikes lackluster sales.

The Honda X-Blade was known for its futuristic styling, featuring a robotic face, sharp body panels, and an X-shaped taillight. It also came with advanced features like a fully-digital instrument console, LED headlamp and taillamp, and an engine start/stop switch. Despite its sleek design, the bike failed to gain significant traction in the market. I believe the design was one of its stronger points, but it wasnt enough to save it.

The Honda X-Blade Double Disc model was priced at Rs 1.21 lakh before its discontinuation. It boasted a 162.71cc air-cooled, single-cylinder engine producing 13.7 HP at 8000 rpm and 14.7 Nm of torque at 5500 rpm. The bike also featured single-channel ABS and tubeless tyres. I think the pricing was competitive, but the market just didnt respond as expected.

The X-Blade competed against several popular bikes in the 160cc segment, including the Yamaha FZ S, Suzuki Gixxer, TVS Apache RTR 160, and Bajaj Pulsar N160. Despite sharing the same underpinnings as the Unicorn and SP160, the X-Blades unique styling and features werent enough to set it apart in a crowded market. I believe the competition was just too fierce for the X-Blade to stand out.

The Honda X-Blade had a fuel tank capacity of 12 litres and an average mileage of around 50 kmpl, according to owner reviews. It also featured a 276mm petal disc brake at the front with single-channel ABS and a 130mm rear drum brake, with an optional rear disc brake. I think the fuel efficiency was a positive aspect, but it wasnt enough to sway buyers.
