Honda CB Shine SP DLX
About
The Honda CB Shine SP DLX is a 125cc commuter bike designed to appeal to young riders with its sporty touches and conservative yet stylish design. It features a 124.7cc HET (Honda Eco Technology) engine, which provides a good balance of power and fuel efficiency. The bike comes with a 5-speed gearbox, which is a significant advantage over other bikes in its segment. It also offers various braking options, including drum brakes, a 240mm front disc brake, and Hondas CBS system in the top variant. The suspension includes telescopic forks at the front and spring-loaded hydraulic type suspension at the rear. While the bike has a comfortable seating position and good headlight illumination, it has faced criticism for vibration issues and some quality concerns. Overall, it is a solid choice for those seeking a fuel-efficient and relatively powerful commuter bike.

Our take on this /// Verdict
The Honda CB Shine SP DLX is a mixed bag for potential buyers. On the positive side, it offers a smooth 5-speed gearbox, which is a standout feature in its segment, allowing for comfortable rides both on highways and in city traffic. The bike also boasts good fuel efficiency, with many users reporting mileage of around 45-55 kmpl, which is commendable for a 125cc commuter bike. However, there are some significant drawbacks, such as vibration issues above 50 kmph and some reports of problems with the front shock absorber and brakes. These issues can be quite disappointing, especially for those expecting a hassle-free riding experience. Overall, while it is a good option for daily commuters looking for fuel efficiency and a smooth ride, it falls short in terms of build quality and reliability.
Price
The price of the Honda CB Shine SP DLX in India varies depending on the region and the specific variant chosen. The ex-showroom price typically ranges from around 85,000 to 95,000, depending on whether you opt for the drum brake, disc brake, or the top variant with Hondas Combi-Braking System (CBS). On-road prices, including taxes, registration, and other costs, can go up to 1.1 lakh to 1.2 lakh. While the pricing is competitive within its segment, the additional costs for higher variants might make it less appealing to some budget-conscious buyers. However, considering the features and performance, it still offers good value for money.

The Honda SP 125 BS6 2024 model has been launched in India, featuring significant updates including a new LED headlight setup, a fully digital meter console, and Bluetooth connectivity as an optional feature. The bike also boasts a more comfortable and wider seat, along with a monoshock rear suspension for improved ride quality. The engine remains the same 124.7 cc air-cooled, fuel-injected unit producing 10.7 bhp. I think these updates will make the SP 125 a strong contender in the 125cc segment.

The bike vibrates above 50 kph and that feels very disappointing.
Best Features: Looks are good
Pros: Mileage stays 50+ kmpl
Cons: Vibrations, lack of comfort
I get only 45 kmpl of mileage. It is very bad as 150cc bikes are better in this case.
Best Features: Nothing is best in this bike
Pros: Headlight is effective
Cons: Vibration above 45 kmph.
Butter smooth performance & gears, got true mileage 65+ aftr 1st service even in high ranges of Idukki. 4th &5th gears are enough for my up hill trips.
Best Features: 5th gear, smooth & powerful engine
Pros: Low end torque, 5th gear, comfort, handling, mileage
Cons: Fuel cap, vibrating fairing
Its a good bike bt not the best in its class. The best thing is 5th gear. By which you can ride it smoothly on highways and city also. And mileage also good. Now it's giving me 45kmpl on city use. I wish it would increase by 10-15kmpl after 2-3 servicing.
Best Features: Sound and mileage
Pros: Sound, comfortable back seat and front also, without servicing 45 kmpl. its good as its power.
Cons: Handling, vibration occurs upto 50kmph, low build quality, head lamp shakes on road, price too high like 150cc
