The Hero Splendor Pro Alloy Self has been discontinued by Hero MotoCorp, marking the end of an era for this popular commuter bike. The last recorded ex-showroom price in New Delhi was Rs. 51,494. This decision is part of Heros strategy to focus on newer models that meet BS6 emission standards. I think this move will push customers towards other variants in the Splendor lineup.

In 2020, Hero updated the Splendor range, including the Splendor Pro, to meet the new BS6 emission norms. This update introduced catalytic converters, fuel injection, and oxygen sensors, although it slightly reduced the power output. The Splendor Pro Alloy Self, however, was not part of this update as it was already on its way out. I believe this was a necessary step to keep the Splendor series relevant.

The campaign Spendor lage aisa, family jaisa was also launched to promote the family commuter image of the motorcycle. I think this campaign resonated well with Indian families.
