Hero Motocorp continued the trend by releasing a new, more affordable version of the Hero Destini 125 scooter in our domestic market. This recently announced Hero Destini 125 Prime model has an ex-showroom price of Rs 71,499 (approximately). The high-end Hero Destini 125 Xtec VX model, on the other hand, costs Rs 85,738 (ex-showroom). As a result, the recently released Hero Destini 125 Prime is over Rs 14,000 cheaper than the bike in its highest-specified configuration.

The scooter features a new design, including an LED headlight with a projector setup and H-shaped LED Daytime Running Lamps. It also boasts a larger seat, 12-inch alloy wheels, and improved suspension for better stability. The engine, though the same 124.6 cc unit, has been retuned for better fuel efficiency and rideability, achieving 59 kmpl. I think these updates make the Destini 125 a strong contender in the 125cc scooter segment.

The scooter features a disc brake on the mid-spec ZX and top ZX+ trims, along with an engine cut-off feature in case of a crash. The top variants also get a fully digital LCD cluster with smartphone connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation. I think these safety features are a big plus.

This scooter now rides on 12-inch alloy wheels and features an external fuel-filler tank for added convenience. Friday, 06 September 2024 02:01 PM Hero MotoCorp has confirmed that the 2024 Hero Destini 125 will have i3s technology to aid fuel efficiency, which cuts off the engine when idling and restarts it when the rider presses the brakes and twists the throttle. However, it lacks a silent starter, which would have made the i3s operation smoother. I think this is a minor oversight in an otherwise well-rounded package.
