Bajaj Pulsar AS180
General information and overview
The Bajaj Pulsar 180 is a versatile motorcycle that excels in multiple aspects. It features a 180cc, single-cylinder engine that produces robust performance, making it ideal for daily commutes as well as long tours. The bike boasts a sporty design with stylish features, including a full duplex cradle frame that provides stability and handling. The comfortable seating and broad tyres ensure a smooth ride, even on rough roads. The Pulsar 180 also comes with essential features like disc brakes and backlit switchgear, enhancing its overall appeal. While it may have some minor issues with build quality and service, the Pulsar 180 remains a reliable and powerful choice for riders seeking a balance of performance, comfort, and value.
Expert opinion and recommendation
The Bajaj Pulsar 180 is a robust and reliable motorcycle that has stood the test of time. With its powerful 180cc engine, it offers strong performance, making it suitable for both city commutes and long rides. Users have praised its smooth handling, responsive brakes, and comfortable seating, even on extended journeys. However, there are some drawbacks, such as the need for better build quality and fit-and-finish, particularly with the welding and panel fittings. Additionally, some users have reported issues with the battery and service experience. Despite these, the Pulsar 180 remains a great value for money, offering a perfect balance of performance and comfort.
Recent news and announcements
There is no specific model known as the Bajaj Pulsar AS180 in the sources provided. The updates are centered around the Pulsar 180 and its variants.
Since the Pulsar 180 has been discontinued and replaced by the Pulsar 180F, there have been no recent updates specifically for the Pulsar 180 model. The focus has shifted to newer models and updates within the Pulsar series.
While there are no specific updates for the Pulsar 180, Bajaj Auto has been upgrading its Pulsar range with new features like Bluetooth-connected digital consoles, navigation, LED headlamps, and ABS ride modes. These upgrades reflect the companys commitment to modernizing its lineup.
Although not directly related to the Pulsar 180, Bajaj Autos announcement of a larger Pulsar model, such as the NS400Z, indicates the companys strategy to expand its offerings. This move could potentially impact the market positioning of smaller models like the Pulsar 180F.
Bajaj Auto has discontinued the Pulsar 180 in India, replacing it with the Pulsar 180F. The Pulsar 180F features a semi-fairing similar to the Pulsar 220F and is priced at Rs. 86,490 (ex-showroom, Mumbai). I think this move is a good step to keep the lineup fresh and competitive.
Pricing details and changes
In India, the Bajaj Pulsar 180 is priced competitively. The ex-showroom price typically ranges around 1.34 lakh, depending on the region and any ongoing offers. When you factor in the on-road costs, including registration, insurance, and other charges, the price can go up to around 1.55 lakh to 1.65 lakh. This pricing makes the Pulsar 180 an attractive option for those seeking a powerful and feature-rich motorcycle without breaking the bank. The value for money is one of the key selling points, as it offers a lot of features and performance at a price that is hard to match by its competitors.
Fuel efficiency information
The mileage of the Bajaj Pulsar 180 is a significant factor for potential buyers. Users have reported varying mileage figures, but on average, it delivers around 40-45 kmpl in city riding conditions and up to 50 kmpl on highways. With the BS6 engine, the mileage has been optimized, and some users have even reported figures as high as 47 kmpl during long rides. This makes the Pulsar 180 a reasonable choice for those concerned about running costs and fuel efficiency.

Expert Verdict
Professional reviews and expert opinions on Bajaj Pulsar AS180
Bajaj has promised the customers for many surprises in this year and that has resulted in many expectations and assumptions. One of the assumptions resulted into the Pulsar 180 AS. With even no hint of its existence, the 180 AS is only a thought till date. If ever seen, it will feature the same adventure sport design that its elder 200 AS is seen with. With the touring DNA, it will share its engine with the current Pulsar 180. But it is also rumoured that a new engine with increased horsepower will be used, following the trend of the new 150 cc more powerful unit.
The same suspension would be used on the expected 180 AS as Bajaj has been using the same suspension on its all models of the same linings. Telescopic forks at the front and the monoshock rear suspension. Disc Brake on the front would be sure in case it arrives but the rear scenario clearly depends on the fact that what strategy Bajaj has made for the 180 cc category. Color options may vary with the trend of the launch time and most probably dual tone will be expected and a single variant will be launched.
Pricing will be the sole decision maker whether it will be feasible for a normal rider or it will disturb the sales of its own family members. Expected price will be around 90,000 INR.
