Our take on this /// Verdict
The Yamaha R1 (Old Model) is a powerhouse of a motorcycle that embodies the essence of a true superbike. With its 998 cc inline-4 engine producing 175 BHP 12,500 rpm and 112.7 Nm of torque 10,000 rpm, this bike is a thrill-seekers dream. The cross-plane crankshaft design gives it a unique sound and exceptional low-end torque, making it both powerful and manageable. The bikes overall build quality is high, and the design, particularly the 2013 WGP 50th Anniversary Edition, is aesthetically pleasing with its aggressive front end and classic red and white livery. However, its not without its drawbacks the brakes could be better, and the heavy clutch can be a nuisance. Despite these, the R1s handling, suspension, and overall performance make it a standout in its class.
