Bajaj V15 Review

23 Dec, 2021 03:10 PM

Quick Review by Maxabout Team

Bajaj V15 is powered by a 149.5 cc engine with maximum power of 11.83 BHP @ 7500 rpm and maximum torque of 13 NM @ 5500 rpm. The most interesting thing about Bajaj V15 is that the fuel tank has been made from the metal of INS Vikrant, an Indian warship. Bajaj V15 also carries a special logo to commemorate the INS Vikrant. The motorcycle from the first glimpse looks pretty classic, with a Kawasaki Boxer like front fairing and windshield. It seems to use an Avenger like rear end and provide a better looking 10-spoke alloy wheels. Bajaj also states that it has enough metal from the retired warship that it can produce the motorcycle for 2 years with the same metal. It also carries a logo branding 'Made with the invincible metal of INS Vikrant'

The engine on the Bajaj V15 is an all-new 150cc engine, which develops maximum power of 11.83 BHP @ 7500 rpm with maximum torque of 13 NM @ 5500 rpm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox.Bajaj V15 is available in 4 shades: Ocean Blue, Heroic Red, Ebony Black and Pearl White. The front tyre of Bajaj V15 is 90/90-18 51P and the rear one is 120/80-16 60P. The bike comes with all-new 10-spoke alloy wheels.A good step was taken on the Indian Republic day by Bajaj Auto and the series can be an instant hit as it carries a blend of motorcycle engineering as well as patriotic feelings attached to it. The exact price of Bajaj V15 is Rs. 62,000 (ex-showroom Delhi), INR 62,820 (ex-showroom, Mumbai), INR 63,682 (ex-showroom, Chennai) and 65,495 (ex-showroom, Kolkata)

Bajaj V15 is a great bike with a classic and retro style

Animesh Choudhary | One year ago

I bought the Bajaj V15 in 2016 and was really impressed with the classic and retro style of the bike. I knew that I couldn't afford a Royal Enfield, so I thought this was the closest I could get. The pick-up of the bike is a bit lower than other 150cc bikes, but the mileage is quite satisfactory. I have used the bike both in the city and on road trips and it works quite well. The only feature that is similar to a Royal Enfield is the firing sound that the bike makes when the speed goes up to 50-70kmph. The bike vibrates a lot at this speed, but after that it runs smoothly.

The only problem I have faced with the bike since the past year is the back and neck pain that I experience after riding it for long hours. After taking a Royal Enfield training program, I was told that this is because of the improper functioning of the rear suspensions. The pillion seat is also quite uncomfortable and it causes back pain after an hour or so of sitting on it.

Overall, the Bajaj V15 is a great bike with a classic and retro style. It has a good mileage, runs smoothly and has a good sound. Despite the minor issues, it is a great bike for those who want a classic and retro look.

Long distance journeys were very uncomfortable

Agha Saquib Raza | One year ago

Buying the Bajaj V15 was a comparatively good experience, as it cost lesser than other 150cc bikes. The locking system was also good and stylish. However, the riding experience was quite bad, as even in 5th gear, it made a sound as if it was in 3rd gear. The backseat passenger was very uncomfortable while riding. If they don't hold on properly, they could easily fall off even at low speeds. The seating design was also very bad. The fuel indicator was not accurate either, showing full even when in reserve. This caused much confusion when it came to placing the fuel indicator. The performance was also not up to the mark, as the pick up was not great and after riding for more than 15 kms, the mileage dropped to 40 km/l. The service centres were also not good, as they didn't respond promptly and even during free service, they would charge a lot. After a free service, they would charge more than 3500Rs for normal service. The tyre was also of very poor quality, making it hard to ride. Long distance journeys were very uncomfortable and gave back pain. The main problem with the bike is that it has very low resale value. It is recommended that you do not purchase this bike.

Bike is good but the performance is not good, as soon as the speed goes above 50 kmph the bike gets vibrate. Looks wise is good but performance is worst. In 9 months I am planing to change the bike in next few month. The seats are very small. It's engine produces bad sounds also it is not comfortable for 2 people. Backseat is very short.

Total waste of money

V is totally bad. The thing which dislike the most is mileage, not crossing 35-36 kmpl in any condition. Gear shifting and vibrations are big problem.

Pros :- 1. Good for city riding. Good commuter bike. 2. Comfortable to sit than most sport bike on same range for both rider and pillion. 3. Max speed - approximately 90 kmph 4. Pick up is good but not great. 5. Exhaust noise :- awesome Cons :- 1. Mileage :- 40 kmpl (normal riding without trying to get good mileage) 2. Weight :- The bike is definitely heavy 3. Fuel Gauge :- Unreliable Getting a better seat cover can lower the vibrations above 60 kmph. Servicing on time brought me no problem till date.

The Bajaj V15 is an excellent bike for long distance trips due to its comfort and great millage. It has the perfect sound of a lion's roar, making it a great choice for those who want to stand out in traffic. It is low maintenance and has a reliable engine, so you don't have to worry about it overheating. The only downside is the low quality tyres used, which give the front end an awkward look. However, the back end looks fantastic and the tyres are of the same quality. All in all, it is a great option that offers good value for money.

Riding the Bajaj V15 can be quite a bumpy experience as the bike is prone to vibrating a lot. It can even be quite uncomfortable for the pillion rider as the seating posture is not suitable, leading to them being pushed back. The mileage that the bike claims to have is also not achieved, making it quite a disappointment. The overall performance of the bike is not satisfactory and it is advisable to sell it off and look for another bike. The vibration of the bike is so great that the bolts have a tendency to come off and it can even cause serious spinal problems if used for a long time.
