Latest Updates
Tuesday, 12 September 2023 03:25 AM

Bajaj Auto has discontinued the Pulsar AS 200 in India. The Pune-based manufacturer has recently launched the 2017 versions of Pulsar RS 200 and Pulsar 200 NS. The latter of the two has made its re-entry to the showrooms after a long period of time. In fact, Bajaj Auto has stated that the new 2017 Pulsar 200 NS has arrived as a replacement to the Pulsar AS 200 in India.

Saturday, 18 July 2020 03:04 PM The Pulsar AS200 was launched in 2015 as an adventure sports bike, but it failed to meet sales projections. Despite its potential, it was overshadowed by more popular models like the NS 200 and RS 200. With the current rise in demand for adventure motorcycles, there is speculation that Bajaj might reconsider the AS200. I think the AS200, with its comfortable ergonomics and potent motor, could still carve out a niche for itself in the market.
Saturday, 18 July 2020 03:54 PM The Pulsar AS200 stood out with its half-fairing design, projector headlamps, and comfortable riding ergonomics. It was designed for highway touring rather than off-roading. If revived, incorporating long travel suspension, dual-purpose tyres, and an upswept exhaust could enhance its capabilities. I believe these upgrades would make the AS200 a compelling option for riders looking for a versatile adventure bike.
Saturday, 18 July 2020 02:46 AM There has been no official word from Bajaj on the relaunch of the AS200, but speculation suggests that if it happens, the bike could benefit from significant upgrades. Tuning the engine for more torque at lower revs and adding features like spoked rims could make it more appealing. I believe that with the right upgrades, the AS200 could become a desirable and well-priced long-distance machine.
Friday, 11 November 2016 12:31 AM Bajaj Auto discontinued the Pulsar AS200 in 2016 to update its lineup to BSIV norms. Although the discontinuation was temporary, the AS200 never returned to the market. The bike had a 199cc triple-spark 4-valve engine, producing 23.5PS of horsepower and 18.35 Nm of torque. I believe if Bajaj were to revive the AS200 with necessary upgrades, it could be a strong contender in the adventure touring segment.
Friday, 11 November 2016 03:10 AM When Bajaj discontinued the AS200, dealerships were left with remaining inventory, which they sold with discounts. The last deliveries were made on Dhanteras in 2016. The temporary halt in production was part of Bajajs strategy to focus on updating their more popular models first. I think this move, although necessary at the time, might have missed an opportunity to establish the AS200 in a growing market segment.

Bajaj Pulsar AS200 Review

23 Dec, 2021 09:05 AM

Quick Review by Maxabout Team

Pulsar Adventure Sport, a new term coined by Bajaj Autos seems to be an interesting new segment for the bike lovers. The first AS series motorcycle is known as Pulsar AS200. The new Pulsar has a different appeal than the other family members and seems like a touring bike from its first look.

Bajaj has finally launched the Pulsar AS200 in India with a price tag of INR 91,550 (ex-showroom New Delhi), creating a rise in the heartbeats of those who love Pulsars and touring equally. The company has increased the price of AS200 marginally and it is now priced at Rs. 94,000. Fully loaded with fun and adventure, the Pulsar pledges to prove its words and comes with advanced features and an all new design.

Design and Style

Bajaj Pulsar 200AS is beautifully designed and it looks like a perfect companion for longer rides with its perfectly placed visor and the touring appeal the body shows. It eliminates the fact that pulsars are not comfortable for long rides. Also, it badges the position of being the first Indian made Adventure and touring motorcycle. The single front projector lamp has been installed on the new Pulsar which seems to be handling the high beam functionality. With the equally good looking body and design, the Pulsar AS200 carries smart engine technologies and power, which adds a glitter to its design.

Bajaj Pulsar AS200 Engine and Performance

Pulsar AS200 shares the same engine that was used in 200 NS. It produces 23.17 BHP @ 9500 rpm and 18.3 NM of torque @ 8000 rpm. With a recognized engine performance, its 6 speed gearbox provides a hassle free riding experience on the highways. The Pulsar 200 cc engine is the best engine developed by Bajaj till date and further tuning has been avoided as the increase in the weight was managed by the same configuration only.

Bajaj Pulsar AS200 Instrument Console

Like other Pulsar bikes, the Pulsar AS200 also comes equipped with a digital-analog instrument console with a digital odometer, digital trip meter, digital speedometer and an analog tachometer. The console also comes equipped with basic tell-tales like RPM indicator, turn indicator LED light etc.

Dimensions and Weight

The length of the bike is 2070mm, width is 804mm and the height stands at 1205mm. The seat height of the bike is 807mm. The wheelbase and fuel tank capacity of Pulsar AS200 is 1363mm and 12 litres respectively. The kerb/wet weight of the bike is 153kg The ground clearance of the bike has been kept 10 mm lower than the AS150, which can be the result of increased weight of the bike.

Brakes and Suspension

Double disc brakes are used for the braking purpose on the new Bajaj AS200. The front disc is 280mm and the size of rear disc brake is 230mm. The seating position has been kept more comfortable by keeping in mind its touring nature. A 37 mm telescopic suspension is seen at the front with monoshock absorber with piggy back canister at the back.

Bajaj Pulsar AS200 Mileage

No official comment has been made on its mileage but same mileage as that of 200NS is expected with a minor difference due to a new front design. The fairing was light weight this time as the one for the RS200 was really heavy.

Bajaj Pulsar AS200 Colours

Pulsar AS200 is being offered in 3 shades namely Red, Black and Blue. Surprisingly, no stickers have been shown on its body in the launch event. This time Bajaj seems to show its power through simplicity.

Bajaj Pulsar AS200 Price

Pulsar AS200 comes with an introductory tag of INR 91,550 (ex-showroom New Delhi). The company has increased the price of AS200 marginally and it is now priced at Rs. 94,000. The machine simply seems to be value for money offering with its wide usage and an efficient price.

Verdict

A brand new, one of its kind offering can be the first choice of all those who love wining the new roads all the time. Bajaj has completely changed its strategy and the new Pulsar is the result of the same. With such a wide choice of motorcycle engine sizes and types, Bajaj Autos plan for some market dominating moves. The introduction of the new 'Adventure Sport' will enlighten many heart who beat for the routes which are less travelled.

Is the Citroen C3 suitable for city driving?
09 January 2024 08:20

Yes, the Citroen C3 is designed with city driving in mind making it an ideal choice for navigating urban environments. It is easy to maneuver through city streets, small parking spaces, and clogged traffic thanks to its small size and agile handling. The automobile is more suited for city driving when its agility is paired with features like a quick steering system. Additionally, the Citroen C3 often comes with a comfortable interior making daily city driving a more enjoyable experience. Whether you are navigating busy streets or finding parking in crowded areas the Citroen C3 is crafted to provide a convenient and efficient urban driving experience.

How is the drive quality of Citroen C3?
09 January 2024 08:17

The C3 soaks up rough roads, potholes, and broken patches in a manner that would make a multiple-time WRC-winning company proud. Which Citroen is! The C3 makes bumps disappear and it doesn’t bob or bounce. The tall sidewalls for the tyres give it added cushioning that lets the C3 just glide over broken roads. It’s absolutely wow on this front! Citroen says that the C3 is meant to be fun to drive too. As it turns out, despite its comfort factor, the C3 isn’t soft and sloppy at high speeds. Sure, the suspension is supple, but it is also controlled. In bends at high speeds, there’s a bit of body roll but then it settles down. It actually feels composed and stable even over 120kmph! So, Citroen’s rally pedigree can be experienced in the way the C3 soaks up bumps and the way it likes to be hustled too.

Which one is the best, Citroen C3 or Toyota Glanza?
09 January 2024 08:16

While each vehicle excels in its own right, the Citroen C3 offers the functionality and room of a compact SUV for the cost of a hatchback that is comfortable on a range of surfaces. But it also lacks several basic equipment such as motorized adjustable mirrors, windshield wipers, and other creature conveniences to which we have grown accustomed from its competition. On the other hand, if you are looking for a hatch that satisfies a lot of needs the Glanza is an excellent option. It has more capacity than several more costly sedans an efficient engine selection, and a respectable features list. Therefore, you can choose the Glanza if a roomy cabin, good features, fuel economy, and power output are your top objectives.

What is the minimum down payment for Citroen C3?
09 January 2024 08:15

The down payment typically amounts to 20–30% of the vehicle's on-road price, while the ROI varies from 9.25–11.5% and is entirely dependent on the individual's CIBIL/Credit score. Therefore, as they will be better able to help you, we would advise you to walk into the closest dealership to obtain the final financial quotation and supporting documentation. Which car is better, Citroen C3 or Maruti Wagon R?
09 January 2024 08:13

Both vehicles excel in their own fields, but the Citroen C3 offers the room and functionality of a compact SUV for the cost of a hatchback that is comfortable on a range of surfaces. However, it is also devoid of many creature conveniences that its competitors have made us accustomed to, such as electrically adjustable mirrors and windshield wipers. Maruti Suzuki Wagon R, on the other hand, is the perfect little family vehicle. It has two engine options is efficient, practical, and capacious. It also has a convenient automatic transmission. Additionally we advise you to do a test drive to gain a better idea of compatibility and comfort when driving. Click the link to view dealership details, then choose the brand and city of your choice.

Poor engineering in Bajaj AS200

It is a worst bike as I m using it from 2015. Electrical wiring is very poor. Headlight of my bike is not working due to poor wiring. All this happens within a year of purchase and only 8000 km. Even the handle switch bar, brake pad, clutch wire needs to be changed within 8000 km .my daily run was only 12 km per day.

Perfect Sports Router for Beginners.

This bike has the good potential to be your first entry level Sports tourer. Change the stock headlights with HIDs and it will illuminate the road like a car does. Engine from 200ns is good enough for cruising at 80-90 kmph without a fuss for miles and miles. Go beyond that and vibrations are going to make you a bit uncomfortable. Just for comparison, Yamaha FZS 2.0 is more smother(less vibrations) to run at 80 kmph. Then come the seats. They are literally, pain in the a**. 200 AS can go beyond 120 and will reach up to 135ish, but takes some effort. Sweet spot is 80kmph, if you are doing long distances like 150 km in one go. Fuel injection would have added more punch. Another missing thing is ABS. Thanks to Indian Government, ABS will be a must in bikes in India very soon by next year. Inspire of the shortcomings, 200 AS is a value for money, sweet little package, that is going to inspire young riders inclined towards sports touring.

Best Features: Liquid Cooling

Pros: Headlights, Liquid Cooling, Rear Disk Brakes

Cons: Vibrations, Hard Seats, Uninspiring Exhaust Note
