In a much-anticipated move, Tata Motors is gearing up to launch its first all-new model for 2024, and it's none other than the eye-catching Curvv SUV. The coupe SUV has been undergoing rigorous testing for several months, and insiders suggest that series production is scheduled to kick off around April 2024. This target will be distributed between the electric and combustion engine versions. The Curvv EV, expected to lead the pack, is anticipated to see an annual production of up to 12,000 units. The remaining 36,000 units will be dedicated to the internal combustion engine-powered Curvv.

Powertrain Options

The Curvv EV is anticipated to boast a range between 400-500km, featuring a dual-motor setup with all-wheel drive capability. On the other hand, the petrol variant is set to follow suit, incorporating a 125hp, 225Nm, 1.2-litre direct-injection turbo-petrol engine showcased at the Auto Expo 2023. The petrol version will be available with both manual and automatic transmissions and rumors are also circulating about the possibility of a CNG powertrain joining the lineup in the future.

Market Competition

Upon its official launch, the Tata Curvv will enter the highly competitive midsize SUV segment, competing with well-known vehicles such as the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, Volkswagen Taigun, Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Honda Elevate, Skoda Kushaq, and MG Astor. Additionally, it will face off against the upcoming Citroen C3X, slated to hit the market next year.
