It may be safer for pedestrians. In a constricted area, it could have the ability to switch to a smaller, more maneuverable form so to avoid collisions.

I wonder if it'll have some kind of smart safety system built in that won't let it transform when it's not safe.
Is the Bajaj CT125X Drum truly the ultimate 'working class hero' bike?
15 January 2025 10:14
Absolutely! The CT125X is a tank that can withstand a beating. I’ve watched delivery guys beat these bikes to death day in and day out, and they just keep on going. It’s not fancy, but it does what it needs to, without breaking the bank.
Is the Bajaj CT125X Drum truly the ultimate 'working class hero' bike?

I disagree. Cheap and rugged doesn't make it a hero. It's rough behind the wheel, the gearbox is clunky and it sounds louder than your average Celta. But you can get a much more refined bike like the Honda SP 125 for a little more money.
Is the Bajaj CT125X Drum truly the ultimate 'working class hero' bike?

It's a mixed bag. The CT125X is great for what it is meant to be, but 'hero' is a stretch. It’s not glamorous, but it’s always there, always ready to help when you need it – more like the dependable sidekick.

I’ve owned one for a year and I’d say it’s pretty close to being a working class hero. It has been amazing fuel efficiency and I have had zero major issues. However the seat could be more comfortable for long rides.

15 January 2025 10:14
Basically, it’s just a run of the mill commuter bike with some ‘tough’ looking plastic bits added. Nothing heroic about it. Marketing is all that Bajaj is good at.

I think it hits the sweet spot for its target. Not everybody needs or wants a fancy bike with everything on it. Sometimes you just need simple and reliable.

Bajaj’s profit margins have a hero in the CT125X! Jokes aside, it’s a good value for money if you’re on a budget and need something that can take abuse.
How does the Scram 440’s value proposition fare against the likes of Yezdi Scrambler and upcoming Hero Mavrick 440?
13 January 2025 09:02
I have ridden the Scram and the Yezdi and I would say the Scram 440 feels more refined. If you’re going to keep the bike, the build quality is noticeably better.
How does the Scram 440’s value proposition fare against the likes of Yezdi Scrambler and upcoming Hero Mavrick 440?
13 January 2025 09:02
Pure performance wise you get a lot more bang for your buck with the Yezdi. The Scram has that classic RE charm that’s hard to quantify, though.
How does the Scram 440’s value proposition fare against the likes of Yezdi Scrambler and upcoming Hero Mavrick 440?
13 January 2025 09:02
I'm really wondering what the Mavrick 440 is like. If it can do so at a competitive price, it could be a game changer. It might be tough for the Scram to compete.

But let’s not forget that RE has a massive service network. That alone gives a lot of value, especially if you plan to travel a long time or live outside of major cities.
How does the Scram 440’s value proposition fare against the likes of Yezdi Scrambler and upcoming Hero Mavrick 440?
13 January 2025 09:02
I believe the Scram 440 is in the sweet spot of features to price. It is not trying to be the most powerful or the most cheap, but it does provide a well rounded package.
How does the Scram 440’s value proposition fare against the likes of Yezdi Scrambler and upcoming Hero Mavrick 440?
13 January 2025 09:02
I have owned multiple REs and resale value is a big factor. The Scram 440 should retain its value better than its competitors.
How does the Scram 440’s value proposition fare against the likes of Yezdi Scrambler and upcoming Hero Mavrick 440?
13 January 2025 09:02
Powerful, the Yezdi is, but power is not everything. I think the Scram 440 is smoother, and has better ergonomics, making it more fun to use on a day to day basis.
How does the Scram 440’s value proposition fare against the likes of Yezdi Scrambler and upcoming Hero Mavrick 440?
13 January 2025 09:02
The Scram 440 just feels like a more mature product and I'm leaning towards it. I think, first of all, the Yezdi and Mavrick are first gen models, and RE has been refining this platform for years.
Bajaj’s superhero origin story could have been the Avenger 400.
18 December 2024 05:33
Bajaj's 'bitten by a radioactive spider' moment in the bike world could be launching the Avenger 400. That would prove that Bajaj is not the commuter bike company anymore — they can innovate and play in big leagues too. It's that nerdy kid in high school who comes in all cool and confident after summer break. Maybe the Avenger 400 says Bajaj, 'Hey, we can do fun and exciting too and we're not just about practical rides!' It could even provoke a whole new generation of Bajaj fans to whom the brand will look completely different.
