What is the Pulsar AS250 like for long distance touring?

A bummer for touring is the lack of tubeless tires. Getting a puncture on the roadside is a pain.

Honest to God, it's more of a sport tourer. However, the AS250 does not have the suspension or ground clearance to do any serious off roading.

I'd say it's adventure-lite. Great for mixed road weekend getaways, not hardcore trail.

Indian roads are adventurous enough for them. Not everyone requires a full ADV bike to have some fun on light trails and highway touring.

It's an entry-level adventure bike. Great for beginners that want to taste the ADV lifestyle without spending a lot of money.

To be honest, most ADV bikes never ever hit dirt. If you’re looking for a practical car that can move around the city, and also take the occasional off road trip, then the AS250 is a good choice.

In terms of power and refinement the AS250 is definitely a step up. On highways, that extra 50cc really makes a difference.

I wish the AS200 had a little more aggressive styling. The AS250 looks a bit more toned down.

The AS250 is built much better. In the end it just feels like a more premium bike.

In the city, I had more fun on the AS200. The AS250 is a bit heavy for tight traffic.

AS250's suspension is a huge improvement. Much more comfortable on long rides and rough roads.

I just wish they kept the projector headlamps from the AS200. The AS250 LED doesn’t seem as effective.

The larger AS250 fuel tank is a game changer for touring. More fuel stops like on the AS200, no more.

It'll be a nightmare to maintain I think. Those extra bits are only going to lead to more things to break and replace.

You're being too pessimistic. Bajaj knows their market. It will be simple enough, they say, for the average mechanic to handle.

The real issue is going to be parts availability. Finding specific ADV components down the line might be a pain if it doesn't sell well.

I bet it'll be fine. Most of it will probably be easy to service, as they will probably share the core engine and electronics with other Pulsars.

Especially if people actually take it off road, the suspension might need more attention. That’s true for any ADV bike, though.
