Tata Nano XTA Automatic
General information and overview
The Tata Nano XTA Automatic is Indias smallest car by footprint, yet it packs a surprising amount of space and practicality. The car features an improved interior with better quality materials, comfortable seating, and enhanced sound deadening. The AMT transmission, while not perfect for quick overtakes, is a boon in rush-hour traffic, offering manual-like fuel efficiency. The Nano XTA also boasts a tight turning circle and high seating, making it easy to maneuver in city conditions. However, it lacks in braking performance, with drum brakes that could be improved. Overall, the Nano XTA AMT is a solid choice for city driving, offering ease of use, good space utilization, and a budget-friendly price tag.
Expert opinion and recommendation
The Tata Nano XTA Automatic is a compelling option for those seeking a budget-friendly, easy-to-drive city car. While it has its shortcomings, such as the occasional jerkiness of the AMT transmission and the need for better braking performance, it excels in its ease of driving and space utilization. The improved interior quality, comfortable seating, and practical stowage spaces make it a viable choice for urban commuters. However, it is crucial to master the soft foot driving technique to fully enjoy the driving experience. Despite some limitations, the Nano XTA AMT remains a value-for-money proposition, especially for those navigating through congested city roads.
Recent news and announcements
The 2024 Tata Nano XTA Automatic is set to launch with exciting new features, including a modernized dashboard, enhanced safety with dual airbags and ABS, and a touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth connectivity. The car will also come with improved interior materials for a more premium feel. Booking for the new model has already opened, with prices starting at Rs. 2.61 lakh. I think this update will make the Nano a more appealing option for budget-conscious buyers.
Tata Motors has announced a special promotion for the first-year insurance of the Tata Nano XTA Automatic, making it an attractive deal for buyers in 2024. The car is priced between Rs. 2.36 lakh and Rs. 3.35 lakh (ex-showroom) and comes with features like power steering, front power windows, and a start/stop button. This promotion could boost sales for the Nano.
The 2024 Tata Nano XTA Automatic will feature a 624cc petrol engine generating 37.48 bhp @ 5500 rpm and 51 Nm of torque @ 4000 rpm, paired with a 5-speed automated manual transmission (AMT). The car also boasts a fuel tank capacity of 24 litres and an ARAI mileage of 21.9 kmpl. I believe the AMT gearbox will make city driving much easier.
In terms of design, the new Tata Nano XTA Automatic will sport front connected projector headlamps, graphics, and chrome accents, giving it a more modern and appealing look. The interior will include leather seats, automatic climate control, and a Harman infotainment system with over 20 connected car features. This new design should attract more buyers.
The Tata Nano XTA Automatic will come with enhanced safety features, including four airbags, parking sensors, and ABS. Additionally, it will have features like push-button start, keyless entry, and central locking. These safety upgrades are a significant improvement over the previous models.
Pricing details and changes
The Tata Nano XTA Automatic, when it was available in the market, was priced competitively. The ex-showroom price typically ranged between 3.35 lakh to 3.55 lakh, depending on the location and any additional features. On-road prices, including taxes and registration, would usually be around 4.0 lakh to 4.3 lakh. This pricing made the Nano XTA AMT an attractive option for first-time car buyers or those looking for an affordable automatic transmission vehicle. However, its important to note that prices may vary based on the state and local taxes, and the cars availability has been discontinued.
Fuel efficiency information
The mileage of the Tata Nano XTA Automatic is a significant factor for potential buyers. Users have reported a mileage of around 13-15 kmpl with the air conditioner on, which is respectable given the cars size and engine. For long-distance drives, the mileage can improve to around 23.4 kmpl in manual mode. This makes the Nano XTA AMT a cost-effective choice for daily commuting and occasional long trips, helping to keep running costs manageable.

If it costs over 3 lakhs it is not going to sell. Alto k10 AMT is better option than this Nano AMT.... Reason ?
1) K10 has 1000cc engine vs 630 cc engine of Nano AMT
2) More power-to-weight ratio than Nano AMT (91 BHP/TON of K10)
3) Better Mileage of 24.07KMPL over 21.9KMPL of Nano AMT
4) Bigger Fuel tank - 35 Liters vs 24 Liters of Nano AMT
5) Bigger Tyres - 13 inches over 12 inches of Nano AMT
6) Better Brakes - K10 has Front Disc brakes while Nano AMT has drum brakes
7) Better Service Center Experience - Tata Service centers are pathetic while Maruti Service centers are better than tata
8) K10 has External Fuel Filling while in Nano AMT you need to open bonnet to fill the fuel.
Although K10 AMT costs about 4.15 Lakhs (Ex Showroom Pune) a normal middle class family will always go for Maruti car over a Tata car.
No offence Tata cars are really good but We Indians have blind faith on Maruti.
The Nano AMT is better than K10 AMT in following sections
1) Rear Wheel Drive car = More fun to drive experience
2) Nano AMT comes with goodies like FOG LAMPS, Bluetooth Music System which K10 AMT misses
I may have missed some points.
