Renault India has stopped the production of the Scala sedan, including the RxL variant, due to poor sales. The Scala RxL was available with a 1.5-litre petrol engine producing 99PS of power and 134Nm of torque. This move marks the end of an era for this sedan in the Indian market. I think this decision was inevitable given the declining sales.

Renault India introduced a special offer for the Scala RxL Diesel, pricing it at Rs. 8.01 lakh, equivalent to its petrol counterpart. This was part of a campaign to boost sales by offering diesel cars at petrol prices. The offer was limited to available stock. I believe this was a clever move to clear inventory and attract more buyers.

Renault relaunched the Scala Travelogue Edition, which includes the RxL trim, to enhance sales. This limited edition was available in both RxL and RxZ trims and started at Rs. 8,47,866 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Travelogue Edition was designed to attract more customers with its unique features. I think this was a good strategy to revive interest in the model.
