Renault Fluence Diesel E4
General information and overview
The Renault Fluence Diesel E4 is a medium sedan that stands out for its comfort, performance, and feature-rich interior. Powered by a 1.5-litre turbo-diesel engine producing 108 HP and 240 Nm of torque, it offers smooth and steady power delivery. The car features a 6-speed manual transmission and can reach a top speed of 190 kmph. The E4 variant is well-equipped with amenities like cruise control, rear parking sensors, Bluetooth telephony, and automatic headlights, enhancing its luxury quotient. The interior is spacious with excellent cabin space, attractive instrument panels, and comfortable seating. The ride quality is exceptional, thanks to its well-tuned suspension and 16-inch alloys, making it a pleasure to drive on both smooth and rough roads. Overall, the Fluence E4 combines European design, practicality, and good fuel economy, making it a compelling option in the Indian market.
Expert opinion and recommendation
The Renault Fluence Diesel E4 is a significant improvement over its predecessors, addressing key issues that previously deterred buyers. The upgraded diesel engine, equipped with a new fuel-injection system and optimized variable-geometry turbocharger, has notably enhanced driveability. The car no longer suffers from severe turbo lag, and power builds up smoothly from around 1700 rpm. The addition of features like cruise control, rear parking sensors, Bluetooth telephony, and automatic headlights in the E4 trim makes it well-equipped to compete with other cars in its segment. The steering remains precise and weighted, and the ride quality is excellent, making it a comfortable choice for both city and highway driving. However, the clutch still feels a bit heavy, and the servicing costs, although manageable, could be a concern for some buyers. Overall, the Fluence E4 is a solid choice for those seeking a comfortable, feature-rich, and performance-oriented sedan.
Recent news and announcements
The Renault Fluence facelift was launched in India, featuring a major front end revamp with a larger Renault logo, redesigned headlamps, a new bumper with integrated fog lamps and daytime running lights. The diesel variant, E4, comes with a 110 PS 1.5-liter diesel motor producing 240 Nm of torque, mated to a six-speed manual transmission. The car also includes features like cruise control, 16-inch alloy wheels, and rain-sensing wipers. I think these updates make the Fluence a strong contender in its segment.
Renault launched the upgraded Fluence E4 D diesel variant, priced at Rs 15.20 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). This version boasts an updated diesel engine producing 110 PS and 240 Nm of torque, an improvement from the previous 106 PS. The car features 16-inch alloy wheels, ESP, traction control, leather upholstery, and automatic headlamps and wipers. This slight power boost should enhance the driving experience, especially in city conditions.
The Renault Fluence E4 diesel was introduced with additional features such as beige interiors, rain-sensing wipers, cruise control, auto headlamps, and twin-zone air conditioning. This variant is priced at Rs 14 lacs, about Rs 80 thousand more than the current E2 diesel variant. The added features are expected to make the Fluence more competitive in its segment. I believe these upgrades will attract more buyers looking for a comfortable and feature-rich sedan.
Renault announced plans to launch the Fluence E4 diesel variant in November, which would include the same features as the E4 petrol version. The diesel engine would remain the same, but the new variant would come with advanced features like cruise control and dual-zone air conditioning. This move is aimed at capitalizing on the rising demand for diesel cars in India.
Pricing details and changes
The Renault Fluence Diesel E4 was priced competitively in the Indian market, with an ex-showroom price in Delhi ranging from Rs. 15.19 lakh to Rs. 16.82 lakh. When considering on-road prices, you would need to add costs such as registration, insurance, and other local taxes, which could push the total cost to around Rs. 17.5 lakh to Rs. 19.5 lakh, depending on the state and local regulations. This pricing positions the Fluence E4 as a viable option in the mid-size sedan segment, offering a good balance of features, performance, and comfort.
Fuel efficiency information
The Renault Fluence Diesel E4 offers respectable fuel efficiency, which is a crucial factor for many Indian buyers. With an average mileage of around 19-20 kmpl on highways and 15-16 kmpl in city driving, it is quite economical. This makes it a good choice for those concerned about running costs, especially for those who frequently drive long distances or navigate through congested city roads.

mast car yaar
As car critics say, the Renault Fluence comes in utmost sophistication with its overall shape that is smooth and flowing with sculpted sides that are very distinctive. It is a blend of ease and style with a touch of sporty look. It has nicely set touches of chrome on the lower side of the windows with rear parking sensors. Both the E2 and E4 versions of the Renault Fluence come with metallic paint finishes which gives it a bolder look. Renault Fluence comes with slightly pointed headlamps and a narrow grille at the front bumper with chrome backdrops on it. The front bumper is attached perfectly into the bonnet with a large Renault logo in chrome. Its bold letters adds appeal of the nose of the vehicle plus the super thin front grille is complimented by a wide air dam on the lower end of the bumper.
