Renault Captur Automatic

About
The Renault Captur is a mid-size SUV that stands out with its distinctive European crossover styling, which sets it apart from more traditional SUV designs. It is built on the same platform as the Renault Duster, inheriting its robust build quality and excellent ground clearance of 210mm. The Captur is available with both petrol and diesel engine options, though neither comes with an automatic transmission. The diesel engine, in particular, is praised for its strong mid-range performance and efficiency, making it a great cruiser on highways. The vehicle features a comfortable and well-insulated cabin, with wide front seats and decent rear space, although the front seats are noted to be a bit too high-set for taller drivers. The Captur also boasts standard safety features like dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, and ISOFIX mounts. Despite some drawbacks, such as the lack of modern infotainment features and an automatic transmission, the Captur remains a solid choice for those seeking a comfortable and capable SUV.

USER OPINION

Our take on this /// Verdict
The Renault Captur, unfortunately, does not come with an automatic transmission option in India, which is a significant drawback for many potential buyers who prefer the convenience of an automatic. Despite this, the Captur shines in other areas, such as its European crossover styling, robust build quality, and excellent ride comfort. The vehicle handles Indian roads admirably, with a suspension setup that flattens most undulations and provides a stable ride at high speeds. However, the lack of modern infotainment features like Android Auto and Google CarPlay, along with the absence of an automatic gearbox, might be deal-breakers for some. Overall, its a solid choice for those who prioritize comfort and handling but may not be the best fit for those seeking modern convenience features.
Price
The Renault Captur in India is priced competitively, but since there is no automatic variant, well focus on the manual transmission models. The ex-showroom price for the Renault Captur starts around Rs 9.5 lakh for the base variant and goes up to around Rs 13.5 lakh for the top-of-the-line RXT variant. On-road prices, including taxes and other costs, can range from approximately Rs 11 lakh to Rs 16 lakh, depending on the state and local taxes. This pricing makes the Captur a viable option in the mid-size SUV segment, especially considering its features and performance. However, the absence of an automatic transmission might affect its appeal compared to competitors like the Hyundai Creta.
Latest Updates
Wednesday, 24 July 2024 02:26 PM The 2024 Renault Captur has undergone a significant mid-life update, featuring a new design inspired by the Renault Scenic E-Tech, including arrow-shaped LED daytime running lights and a refreshed interior. The update also introduces a new Google-based infotainment system with a 10.4-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and over 50 Google Play apps. I think this update will help the Captur stay competitive in the crowded small SUV market.
Tuesday, 11 June 2024 06:01 AM Renault has enhanced the Capturs safety features with the latest update, including 28 advanced driver-assistance systems such as a 360° around view camera, active driver assist, and detection with emergency trajectory correction. Despite these improvements, the Captur received a four-star Euro NCAP rating, slightly lower than its previous five-star rating. I believe the safety kit is still impressive, especially considering the standard features across all trims.
Tuesday, 11 June 2024 03:15 AM The new Renault Captur E-Tech full hybrid boasts a 1.6-litre petrol engine combined with two electric motors and a smart multi-mode dog clutch gearbox, offering enhanced fuel efficiency and reduced CO2 emissions. This hybrid model can run on electric power alone in city driving, reducing fuel consumption by up to 40%. I think this hybrid option is a great choice for those looking to save on fuel costs without compromising on performance.
Tuesday, 11 June 2024 08:09 AM Renault has introduced the esprit Alpine version of the Captur, which features a sporty and stylish design, new upholstery, and sustainable interior materials. This trim includes additional features like adaptive cruise control, heated front seats, and a heated steering wheel. I believe the esprit Alpine trim adds a nice touch of luxury and sportiness to the Captur lineup.
Tuesday, 11 June 2024 03:11 PM The 2024 Renault Captur offers impressive boot space, with the ability to expand from 484 litres to 616 litres by sliding the rear seats forward. However, the hybrid model slightly reduces this capacity. The Captur also features a comfortable ride and decent legroom, although rear headroom is a bit tight. I think the Capturs practicality and comfort make it a solid choice for daily use.
Mileage
Tuesday, 19 November 2024 09:45 PM When it comes to mileage, the Renault Captur is quite efficient, especially with its diesel engine. The diesel variant offers an impressive mileage of around 20.4 kmpl as per ARAI ratings, and real-world figures can range from 18 to 20 kmpl. The petrol variant, while not as fuel-efficient, still manages a respectable 13.87 kmpl according to ARAI, with real-world figures typically around 12-15 kmpl. This makes the Captur a good choice for those concerned about running costs, particularly if they opt for the diesel model.

It's a very good looking car. I like its a head-turning appearance on the road. Its dual-tone colour is astonishing.it has very good ground clearance. The best feature of the car is smart key. Also 17. Inch machine cut alloy wheels are very cool in appearance. Hill assist is also very wonderful it helps me a lot when I go through my house ramp. Cruise control is wonderful. However, leather seats are a little bit hard but it may be good for long drive. Overall it is a very good SUV
