About
The Renault Captur is a crossover that combines stylish design with robust build quality and good performance. Powered by a 1.5L diesel engine producing 109 BHP, it offers strong mid-range performance and effortless in-gear acceleration once the engine is above 1,600 rpm. The vehicle boasts a high ground clearance of 210mm, which is beneficial for navigating Indian roads. The ride quality is excellent, and the Captur handles undulations smoothly. The interior is well-equipped with features like LED DRLs, automatic temperature control, and a 7-inch infotainment system, although it lacks modern connectivity options. Safety features include multiple airbags, ABS EBD BA, and electronic stability control. Despite some minor drawbacks like firm steering and limited rear legroom, the Captur is a solid choice for those seeking a stylish, feature-rich, and capable crossover.

Our take on this /// Verdict
The Renault Captur, even in its 4x4 variant, is a mixed bag that appeals to different buyers for various reasons. On the positive side, its striking design and robust build quality make it stand out in the crowded SUV segment in India. The vehicles ground clearance of 210mm is a significant advantage, especially for Indian roads, and its ride quality is commendable, handling undulations with ease. However, the lack of an automatic transmission option and the absence of modern infotainment features like Android Auto and Google CarPlay might be a turnoff for some. Additionally, the steering can be firm and has strong kickback in fast corners, and the rear seat legroom is not as generous as some might expect. Despite these drawbacks, the Capturs strong mid-range performance, good fuel efficiency, and extensive safety features make it a viable option for those seeking a stylish and capable crossover.
Price
The Renault Captur 4x4 variant in India is priced between Rs. 14.00 to 14.50 lakhs (ex-showroom), depending on the specific trim and features. When you factor in the on-road costs, including taxes, registration, and insurance, the price can go up to around Rs. 17 to 18 lakhs. While this places the Captur at the higher end of its segment, the vehicles unique styling, robust build, and feature-packed interior justify the cost to some extent. However, the price can be a deterrent for budget-conscious buyers who might find similar features in other models at a lower cost.
Latest Updates
Friday, 05 April 2024 07:51 PM
The 2024 Renault Captur has undergone a significant facelift, adopting the latest design language with striking LED daytime running lights and a restyled diamond logo. The front fascia has been completely redesigned, and the rear features updated taillights with new graphics. The Esprit Alpine trim replaces the RS Line, offering 19-inch alloy wheels and various dual-tone paint combinations. I think this new design gives the Captur a fresh and modern look that will appeal to many buyers.

Renault has confirmed that the updated Captur will not be coming to India. Instead, the company plans to introduce new SUVs with five and seven-seater configurations in the Indian market next year. This decision aligns with Renaults strategy to focus on different models for the Indian market. I believe this move could help Renault tap into the growing demand for larger SUVs in India.

The updated Renault Captur features a new interior with a 10.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster. The infotainment system includes Google Maps, Google Assistant, and Google Play apps. Renault has also replaced leather upholstery with recycled materials to boost sustainability. I think these tech upgrades and eco-friendly materials will make the Captur more appealing to environmentally conscious buyers.

Renault has dropped the diesel and plug-in hybrid engine options for the 2024 Captur, focusing on petrol, LPG, and full hybrid powertrains. The hybrid model combines a 1.6-liter petrol engine with a 36-kW electric motor, offering a combined output of 145 hp. I believe this shift towards hybrid technology is a smart move given the increasing emphasis on fuel efficiency and environmental sustainability.

The 2024 Renault Captur will be produced at the Valladolid factory in Spain and is set to compete with models like the Ford Puma and Peugeot 2008 in Europe. However, there are no plans to bring this model to India, where Renault will focus on other SUV models. I think this strategic decision will help Renault maintain a strong presence in different markets with tailored offerings.
Mileage
Tuesday, 19 November 2024 09:46 PM
The Renault Captur 4x4, with its 1.5L diesel engine, offers impressive fuel efficiency. On highways, it can deliver up to 20 kmpl in eco mode, while in city driving conditions, it manages around 11-12 kmpl. This makes it a good choice for those concerned about running costs, especially for long drives where the eco mode can significantly enhance mileage.

It's a very good looking car. I like its a head-turning appearance on the road. Its dual-tone colour is astonishing.it has very good ground clearance. The best feature of the car is smart key. Also 17. Inch machine cut alloy wheels are very cool in appearance. Hill assist is also very wonderful it helps me a lot when I go through my house ramp. Cruise control is wonderful. However, leather seats are a little bit hard but it may be good for long drive. Overall it is a very good SUV
