About
The Nissan GT-R Track Edition is a performance-focused variant of the iconic GT-R lineup. Powered by a 3.8-liter twin-turbo V6 engine, it churns out 565 horsepower and 467 lb-ft of torque, making it a force to be reckoned with on both the road and the track. The engine is paired with a six-speed dual-clutch transaxle and an all-wheel-drive system that is rear-biased but can send up to half the torque to the front wheels when needed. The Track Edition benefits from many of the performance enhancements found in the NISMO GT-R, including ultra-high-performance run-flat tires and a suspension system that, while firm, is designed for track use. Despite its age, the GT-R remains a formidable competitor in the supercar segment, known for its ballistic acceleration and handling capabilities, even if it lacks the refinement of some newer models.

Our take on this /// Verdict
The Nissan GT-R Track Edition is a beast of a car that embodies the spirit of raw power and performance. While it may not be as refined as some of its modern supercar counterparts, its allure lies in its unapologetic brutality and immediate responsiveness. The 3.8-liter twin-turbo V6 engine, producing 565 horsepower and 467 lb-ft of torque, makes this car feel almost synaptic in its acceleration. However, its weight and tendency to understeer in high-speed sweeps can be frustrating. Despite these quirks, the GT-Rs ability to deliver short bursts of incredible acceleration and its near-neutral balance around tight corners make it a thrilling drive. Its a car that demands respect and rewards aggressive driving, but its not for the faint of heart.
Price
In India, the Nissan GT-R Track Edition is a rare and expensive proposition. The ex-showroom price can range from around 2.5 crore to 3 crore, depending on the specific year and any customizations. Once you factor in taxes, registration, and other costs, the on-road price can easily exceed 3.5 crore. This places the GT-R in the realm of exclusive supercars, making it accessible only to a select few. However, for those who can afford it, the GT-R offers a unique blend of performance and exclusivity that justifies the hefty price tag.
Latest Updates
Thursday, 21 March 2024 08:19 PM
Production of the 2025 Nissan GT-R, including the Track Edition, is reportedly limited to 1,500 units, with 300 of those being NISMO versions. This limited production could make the 2025 GT-R a collectors item, especially if it marks the end of the R35 generation. I believe this limited production will add to the cars exclusivity and appeal.

The 2025 GT-R Track Edition, like other models in the lineup, will start sales in Japan in June, with orders already open. The pricing for these models has increased, reflecting the updates and exclusivity. I think the timing is right for Nissan to capitalize on the GT-Rs legacy before any potential transition to new technologies.

The 2025 Nissan GT-R Track Edition, engineered by NISMO, has been updated with high-precision weight-balanced piston rings, connecting rods, and crankshafts, previously exclusive to the GT-R NISMO Special Edition. These components enhance turbo spooling and revs, making the car even more performance-oriented. The Track Edition also features aluminum takumi nameplates and gold-colored model number plates in the engine compartment. I think these updates will make the GT-R even more appealing to performance enthusiasts.

Nissan has introduced a new interior color option, Blue Heaven, for the 2025 GT-R Premium Edition, but this feature is not available for the Track Edition. However, the Track Edition benefits from subtle aesthetic tweaks and enhanced aerodynamics, including new front and rear fascias, a rear wing, front lip, rear diffuser, and new canards. These changes improve downforce without increasing drag. I believe these subtle updates will keep the GT-R competitive in its class.

There is speculation that the 2025 GT-R could be the last model of the R35 generation, with Nissan potentially moving towards an electric or hybrid successor. The company has been investing heavily in electrification, and the Hyper Force concept unveiled at the Japan Mobility Show hints at a possible electric future for the GT-R. I think an electric GT-R would be a significant shift, but it could be exciting to see how Nissan executes it.
Mileage
Wednesday, 20 November 2024 05:22 AM
When it comes to mileage, the Nissan GT-R Track Edition is not for the frugal. With a fuel economy that hovers around 5-7 kml in city driving and slightly better on the highway, this car is a guzzler. Given its performance-oriented nature, high octane fuel is recommended, adding to the running costs. If youre concerned about mileage, this might not be the car for you, but if performance is your priority, the GT-Rs fuel efficiency is a trade-off youll have to accept.
