Design and Style

The GT-R has been built with precision and passionately inspected for the superior quality possible. The GT-R features aggressive looks which easily steals one attention. If we talk about the design, the Nissan GT-R has simply headed on to a new direction- to a more civilized one. The Godzilla features completely redesigned front end with larger grille openings that let more cool air to key components. This reduces drag as the new front fascia lets direct air to peep in around the front wheel wells.

Like the front, the rear portion of the GT-R has also been redesigned in a manner that now it extends to the sides which accelerates the air away from the back of the bumper. So, all the hot gases away are blown away and the exhaust remains cool. The side skirts and C-pillar have also been redesigned in order to prevent air flow from being drawn underneath the vehicle. This allows consistent down-force and grip and refined area around the C-pillar reduces turbulence.

Now to boast off the new design at the front, rear and sides, GT-R has got head lamps with four LED units. Just imagine the beauty of it! Now these multi-LED headlamps can of course create natural light but the Adaptive Front lighting System (AFS) in them can adapt the angle of the light beam as per the car's speed that too automatically. And not to forget the titanium exhaust which has been crafted with precision to ensure good cooling from the engine’s massive output.

Interior

The GT-R has got a breathtaking outer beauty and so is the inner one as well. Everything on the inside is just flawless including even minor stuff such as air vent, switch, dashboard which is made from single Nappa leather hide. Also the interiors have been updated to maximize the comfort levels. Now you have control at your fingertips with the new ergonomics.

In all, there are features that will add fun to your drives and also get your pulse racing every time you step into the revamped Nissan beauty. The cabin has got plusher and yes quieter too which has added to the smoothness of the rides. The interiors have been wrapped in stitched leather including centre console, seats and door panels to give you the WOW feeling.

Sound Enhancement and Infotainment System

GT-R is equipped with Bose Audio System with 11-speaker and dual sub-woofers to magnify your experience. The GTR's infotainment system is fully compatible with AUX, MP3 playback, USB, AM/FM, DVD playback, CD player, iPod compatibility, GPS Navigation, system voice recognition and Bluetooth.

GT-R features active sound enhancement system to monitor engine speed and vehicle dynamics. The multi-touch screen of GT-R comes with a dial that lets you to control and move through menu selections. The GT-R is also equipped with insulator below the dashboard and behind the instrument panel to keep the engine noise away from the cabin. Also, the windscreen is equipped with sound absorbing technology.

Engine and Gearbox

The Nissan GT-R has got an ideally sized, fuel-efficient and high performance engine. The Godzilla gets its power from the 3799 cc, twin-turbocharged 24-valve V6 engine which can produce 570 PS at 6800 rpm and 637 NM at 3300-5800 rpm.

Special Features for the Special Engine

1) The engine features a new active noise cancellation system which helps in quieter rides while cruising. The transmission is taken care by dual clutch 6 speed AT gearbox.

2) Every bank of the engine is equipped with IHI integrated turbocharger which along with exhaust optimizes the intake and exhaust gas flow.

3) The engine has been designed in a closed deck and ladder frame structure which leads to enhanced strength and support necessary for engine’s massive torque.

4) Each side of the V6 has got independent intake and exhaust system (includes independent turbocharger, inter-cooler, catalyst) which increases intake of air flow and decreases exhaust back-pressure.

5) Each cylinder has got plasma coating bore which results in increased cooling, and reduction in weight and friction. This results in more horsepower and fuel-efficiency. This results into overall weight reduction by 3 kg against to the use of cast-iron liner.

6) The engine cooling is controlled by thermostatically controlled oil cooler system.

Mileage and Performance

The GT-R has got a top speed of 315 kmph and it can sprint from 0-100 kmph in 3 seconds and 0-200 kmph in 11 seconds. The mileage which it returns in city rides is 8.4 kmpl and on highway is 10 kmpl (approx. figures). The GT-R’s aerodynamics are designed to provide an incredibly clean Coefficient of Drag of 0.26 Cd. With its pure aerodynamic alchemy, you would feel that the supercar just rushes you through the wind. The All-Wheel Drive system in GT-R can provide around 100% of available torque to the rear wheels and 50% torque to the front wheels.

Brakes and Suspension

The braking system comprises of Nissan/Brembo braking system with all four wheels with disc brakes, 15.4" front and 15.0" rear two-piece floating rotors with diamond pattern internal ventilation. The suspension duties are performed by double wishbone with aluminum arms at the front and multi-link rear suspension with aluminum arms at the rear.

Riding and Handling

Nissan GT-R features easy-to-use 3-mode system consisting of three switches which let you on-the-fly adjustment of specific performance parameters for the transmission, suspension, and Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) system. The three modes are R-mode for maximum performance, Normal mode for daily driving and Special Modes come with off-mode, save mode and comfort mode.

Safety Features

To enhance the safety of the riders, Nissan GT-R comes loaded with plenty of safety features. They are as follows:

1) Zone Body Construction: It is an advanced type of body construction which has got impact-absorbing structures and ensures the safety of the riders even in case of a collision.

2) Automatic On/Off LED head lamps: They keep the driver aware about the light conditions outside by turning on or off automatically as per the requirement.

3) 6 Air Bags: Nissan features advanced air bag system which has dual-stage supplemental front air bags with seat belt sensors along with an occupant-classification sensor.

4) Vehicle Dynamic Control: The Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) system is meant to send more power to the appropriate wheels in case of over-steer or under-steer. Along with this GT-R also comes with Anti-Lock Braking System and Electronic Brake Force distribution, tyre pressure monitoring system, seat belt pre-tensioners and traction control system.
