Nissan GTR
General information and overview
I consider the Nissan GT-R a pinnacle of supercar engineering tailored for India's enthusiasts, featuring a 3.8-litre handcrafted twin-turbo V6 engine with 570PS and 637Nm, mated to a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic and ATTESA AWD for blistering 0-100kmph in 2.9 seconds and a 315kmph top speed. Its 4710mm length, 1895mm width, and 110mm ground clearance suit highways better than broken city roads, seating four in a cockpit-like interior with Alcantara and carbon fibre accents, Bose audio, and advanced displays. Discontinued in India post-2023 at Rs 2.12 crore ex-showroom, it boasts 74-litre tank, massive 20-inch wheels, and Brembo brakes, but demands meticulous service for turbos and diffs. I value its Nismo-inspired aerodynamics and track prowess, making it ideal for spirited drives from Bangalore to Coorg, though low mileage and stiff ride suit enthusiasts over daily commuters seeking unmatched power-to-price thrills.
The GT‑R sold in India is the hand‑built R35 with a 3.8‑litre twin‑turbo V6 (around 565–570 bhp and 637 Nm), six‑speed dual‑clutch transmission and all‑wheel drive, seating four in a low‑slung coupe layout with a small boot and a 74‑litre fuel tank; it combines track‑bred performance (0–100 km/h in low 3‑second range historically) with strong mechanical packaging, seven colour options and a driver‑focused cockpit, but compromises include a firm ride, low ground clearance (around 105 mm), high fuel consumption and selective dealer/service support in India, making it best suited to buyers prioritising unfiltered performance and driver engagement over daily convenience and low running costs.
Expert opinion and recommendation
I find the Nissan GT-R to be an exhilarating supercar that delivers raw Japanese engineering prowess, with its handcrafted 3.8-litre twin-turbo V6 engine pumping out 570PS and 637Nm, propelling it from 0-100kmph in under 3 seconds through its lightning-fast dual-clutch transmission. In India, I appreciate how it grips Indian roads with its advanced ATTESA all-wheel-drive system and massive Brembo brakes, making it a track weapon disguised as a street car, though its stiff suspension demands smooth tarmac to avoid jarring over potholes. I love the iconic design with those aggressive curves and massive rear wing, turning heads in cities like Mumbai or Delhi, but its discontinued status means sourcing used units around Rs 2 crore requires diligent checks for maintenance history. For buyers chasing adrenaline over practicality, I recommend it wholeheartedly—it's not just a car, it's a statement of speed and precision that few can match in the Indian supercar scene, provided you're ready for its high upkeep.
I find the Nissan GT‑R to be a rare purchase in India: it delivers supercar acceleration, razor-sharp handling and mechanical purity in a single, usable package, but it asks you to accept high running costs, limited ground clearance for Indian roads and very niche ownership experience; the GT‑R’s 3.8‑litre twin‑turbo V6 with roughly 565–570 bhp and massive torque makes it relentlessly fast on road and track, the dual‑clutch gearbox and all‑wheel drive give confidence in high‑speed manoeuvres while the chassis and Brembo brakes communicate performance precisely, yet the ride is firm and everyday practicality (low clearance, firm suspension, fuel consumption, service network) is compromised compared with luxury GT alternatives.
Recent news and announcements
The 2024 Nissan GT-R Skyline Edition is a nod to the iconic Bayside Blue color last seen on the R34 GT-R. This edition comes with a Sora Blue interior and is one of the two special editions marking the end of the R35 GT-R production. Only 200 examples of these special editions will be produced, making them highly sought after by collectors. I believe this color combination is a perfect tribute to the GT-Rs history.
Pricing for the 2024 Nissan GT-R special editions has been revealed, with the Skyline Edition starting at $132,985 and the T-spec Takumi Edition at $152,985. The base GT-R Premium starts at $122,985, while the GT-R NISMO tops out at $222,985. These prices reflect the exclusive nature and enhanced features of these models. I think these prices are justified given the performance and exclusivity.
Nissan is celebrating the GT-Rs heritage with the return of the T-spec trim level for the 2024 model year. The T-spec Takumi Edition honors the artisans who have worked on the GT-R, featuring a Midnight Purple exterior and a Mori Green interior. This edition also includes GT-R NISMO carbon-ceramic brakes and unique clear coat on the carbon fiber hood. I think the attention to detail in these special editions is impressive.
The 2024 Nissan GT-R includes advanced technology features such as Apple CarPlay integration, a Bose Premium Audio System, and NissanConnect Services. These features enhance the driving experience and connectivity within the vehicle. I think these tech additions make the GT-R more appealing to modern drivers.
The 2024 Nissan GT-R features significant aerodynamic enhancements, including redesigned front and rear fascias, optimized bumper sides, and revised grille shapes. These changes aim to increase downforce without increasing drag, maintaining a drag coefficient of 0.26 Cd. The GT-R NISMO also gets a new rear wing design with swan neck-style supports. I believe these updates will make the GT-R even more formidable on the track.
Pricing details and changes
I note the Nissan GT-R's last recorded ex-showroom price in India at Rs 2.12 crore for its sole 3.8 V6 variant, as per multiple sources before it was discontinued around 2023, making new units unavailable and pushing buyers to the used market where prices hover similarly depending on condition and location. On-road prices, factoring RTO registration, insurance, and taxes, typically pushed it to Rs 2.4-2.5 crore in metros like Delhi or Mumbai, with variations by state—higher in high-tax areas like Karnataka. As I see it, this premium positioning made it a value play against European rivals like the Lamborghini Huracan at double the cost, offering superior tech like launch control and adjustable drive modes for the price, but depreciation hits hard post-warranty, so I advise budgeting extra for the 3-year/1 lakh km coverage extension. For discerning buyers, the ex-showroom tag still screams exclusivity in India's luxury segment, justifying the outlay if performance trumps resale worries.
The last listed ex‑showroom price for the GT‑R in India is about ₹2.12 crore for the 3.8 V6 variant, and on‑road prices typically land in the range of roughly ₹2.48–2.53 crore depending on city taxes and insurance (examples: on‑road calculations show ₹2.49 crore in Bangalore and ₹2.52 crore in some districts after RTO, insurance and other charges); I would budget for dealer handling, import duties (if any for your city) and higher insurance premiums for a performance car, which together push the on‑road cost above the headline ex‑showroom figure, and factor in the limited resale market and premium servicing costs when evaluating total cost of ownership.
Fuel efficiency information
I observe the GT-R's ARAI-rated mileage at 8-9 kmpl for its 3.8-litre petrol V6, with real-world figures around 8 kmpl in mixed Indian driving, leading to monthly fuel costs of Rs 3,300 for 300km at Rs 100/litre. For mileage-focused buyers, I caution it's a high-running-cost beast—opt for it only if thrill outweighs Rs 12/km fuel expense, as maintenance amplifies totals.
Official/Arai and real‑world figures for the GT‑R in India are low—manufacturer/agency figures are around 8–10 kmpl and real‑world urban/highway use will typically be closer to 5–9 kmpl depending on driving style; I recommend buyers who worry about running costs calculate annual fuel spend using expected km per year and local petrol prices, and treat the GT‑R as a low‑efficiency passion car rather than an everyday commuter.

Professional reviews and expert opinions on Nissan GTR
The revamped and the redesigned Nissan GT-R is here to set you rolling your heart on the road. It features a much more sophisticated and high-class look this time with high performance figures, ample safety and comfort features along with features to give you the best possible ride ever.
The revamped and the redesigned Nissan GT-R is here to set you rolling your heart on the road. It features a much more sophisticated and high-class look this time with high performance figures, ample safety and comfort features along with features to give you the best possible ride ever.
From breathtaking beauty to powerful engine, classy interior, in-hand control to noise reduction system, and advanced safety features, the Nissan GT-R has it all. It seems Nissan's team has focused on the best design, crafting and each little detail has been so carefully designed to make this machine a flawless one.
Design and Style
The GT-R has been built with precision and passionately inspected for the superior quality possible. The GT-R features aggressive looks which easily steals one attention. If we talk about the design, the Nissan GT-R has simply headed on to a new direction- to a more civilized one. The Godzilla features completely redesigned front end with larger grille openings that let more cool air to key components. This reduces drag as the new front fascia lets direct air to peep in around the front wheel wells.
Like the front, the rear portion of the GT-R has also been redesigned in a manner that now it extends to the sides which accelerates the air away from the back of the bumper. So, all the hot gases away are blown away and the exhaust remains cool. The side skirts and C-pillar have also been redesigned in order to prevent air flow from being drawn underneath the vehicle. This allows consistent down-force and grip and refined area around the C-pillar reduces turbulence.
Now to boast off the new design at the front, rear and sides, GT-R has got head lamps with four LED units. Just imagine the beauty of it! Now these multi-LED headlamps can of course create natural light but the Adaptive Front lighting System (AFS) in them can adapt the angle of the light beam as per the car's speed that too automatically. And not to forget the titanium exhaust which has been crafted with precision to ensure good cooling from the engine’s massive output.
Interior
The GT-R has got a breathtaking outer beauty and so is the inner one as well. Everything on the inside is just flawless including even minor stuff such as air vent, switch, dashboard which is made from single Nappa leather hide. Also the interiors have been updated to maximize the comfort levels. Now you have control at your fingertips with the new ergonomics.
In all, there are features that will add fun to your drives and also get your pulse racing every time you step into the revamped Nissan beauty. The cabin has got plusher and yes quieter too which has added to the smoothness of the rides. The interiors have been wrapped in stitched leather including centre console, seats and door panels to give you the WOW feeling.
Sound Enhancement and Infotainment System
GT-R is equipped with Bose Audio System with 11-speaker and dual sub-woofers to magnify your experience. The GTR's infotainment system is fully compatible with AUX, MP3 playback, USB, AM/FM, DVD playback, CD player, iPod compatibility, GPS Navigation, system voice recognition and Bluetooth.
GT-R features active sound enhancement system to monitor engine speed and vehicle dynamics. The multi-touch screen of GT-R comes with a dial that lets you to control and move through menu selections. The GT-R is also equipped with insulator below the dashboard and behind the instrument panel to keep the engine noise away from the cabin. Also, the windscreen is equipped with sound absorbing technology.
Engine and Gearbox
The Nissan GT-R has got an ideally sized, fuel-efficient and high performance engine. The Godzilla gets its power from the 3799 cc, twin-turbocharged 24-valve V6 engine which can produce 570 PS at 6800 rpm and 637 NM at 3300-5800 rpm.
Special Features for the Special Engine
1) The engine features a new active noise cancellation system which helps in quieter rides while cruising. The transmission is taken care by dual clutch 6 speed AT gearbox.
2) Every bank of the engine is equipped with IHI integrated turbocharger which along with exhaust optimizes the intake and exhaust gas flow.
3) The engine has been designed in a closed deck and ladder frame structure which leads to enhanced strength and support necessary for engine’s massive torque.
4) Each side of the V6 has got independent intake and exhaust system (includes independent turbocharger, inter-cooler, catalyst) which increases intake of air flow and decreases exhaust back-pressure.
5) Each cylinder has got plasma coating bore which results in increased cooling, and reduction in weight and friction. This results in more horsepower and fuel-efficiency. This results into overall weight reduction by 3 kg against to the use of cast-iron liner.
6) The engine cooling is controlled by thermostatically controlled oil cooler system.
Mileage and Performance
The GT-R has got a top speed of 315 kmph and it can sprint from 0-100 kmph in 3 seconds and 0-200 kmph in 11 seconds. The mileage which it returns in city rides is 8.4 kmpl and on highway is 10 kmpl (approx. figures). The GT-R’s aerodynamics are designed to provide an incredibly clean Coefficient of Drag of 0.26 Cd. With its pure aerodynamic alchemy, you would feel that the supercar just rushes you through the wind. The All-Wheel Drive system in GT-R can provide around 100% of available torque to the rear wheels and 50% torque to the front wheels.
Brakes and Suspension
The braking system comprises of Nissan/Brembo braking system with all four wheels with disc brakes, 15.4" front and 15.0" rear two-piece floating rotors with diamond pattern internal ventilation. The suspension duties are performed by double wishbone with aluminum arms at the front and multi-link rear suspension with aluminum arms at the rear.
Riding and Handling
Nissan GT-R features easy-to-use 3-mode system consisting of three switches which let you on-the-fly adjustment of specific performance parameters for the transmission, suspension, and Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) system. The three modes are R-mode for maximum performance, Normal mode for daily driving and Special Modes come with off-mode, save mode and comfort mode.
Safety Features
To enhance the safety of the riders, Nissan GT-R comes loaded with plenty of safety features. They are as follows:
1) Zone Body Construction: It is an advanced type of body construction which has got impact-absorbing structures and ensures the safety of the riders even in case of a collision.
2) Automatic On/Off LED head lamps: They keep the driver aware about the light conditions outside by turning on or off automatically as per the requirement.
3) 6 Air Bags: Nissan features advanced air bag system which has dual-stage supplemental front air bags with seat belt sensors along with an occupant-classification sensor.
4) Vehicle Dynamic Control: The Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) system is meant to send more power to the appropriate wheels in case of over-steer or under-steer. Along with this GT-R also comes with Anti-Lock Braking System and Electronic Brake Force distribution, tyre pressure monitoring system, seat belt pre-tensioners and traction control system.
Shades & Price
Nissan GT-R is available in Vibrant Red, Daytona Blue, Storm White, Gun Metallic, Pearl Black, Ultimate Silver and Kastura Orange. The ex-showroom price of the GTR in India is INR 1.99 crore (ex-showroom Delhi).

One of my most favourite cars. It has simply exceptional value. It should actually be around 2 crore.
cool drive ,cool journey best car.......
It is not just a car but an example of engineering brilliance. It moves faster than most cars and is not insanely pricey as a Ferrari or any other premium sports car. AWD makes it the most stable car on the track and on the road. It's just brilliant. If you don't like it then you should buy a bullock cart.
