About
The Maruti Suzuki SX4 Celebration Edition is a limited-edition model based on the ZXi and ZDi variants of the SX4. It is powered by a 1.3-litre DDiS diesel engine, known as the Super Turbo, which produces 89 BHP of power and 200 Nm of torque. This engine is the same Multijet unit from Fiat, equipped with a Variable Geometry Turbocharger. The Celebration Edition comes with several cosmetic add-ons, including a new color, body graphics, cubic printing on door armrests, chrome finished inside door handles, and chrome finish on AC louvers. The interior also features special celebration edition branding on the seats. The SX4 itself is known for its spacious interior, though some users have noted that the rear seats could be more comfortable. The vehicle was available in both petrol and diesel variants, with manual and automatic transmission options for the petrol. Despite being discontinued, the SX4 remains a notable model in Maruti Suzukis lineup for its blend of performance, fuel efficiency, and features.

Our take on this /// Verdict
The Maruti Suzuki SX4 Celebration Edition, launched in 2012, is a mixed bag for potential buyers. While it attempts to stand out with cosmetic add-ons such as new colors, body graphics, cubic printing on door armrests, and chrome finishes, these additions feel more like aftermarket tweaks rather than substantial upgrades. The Celebration Edition is based on the top-end ZXi and ZDi variants, but the additional features do not significantly enhance the vehicles overall value or performance. Given that these cosmetic changes can be easily replicated at an aftermarket shop, the Celebration Edition does not offer a compelling reason to choose it over the regular SX4 models. However, if you are looking for a car with a slightly differentiated look and are willing to pay a premium for it, this might be an option.
Price
The Maruti Suzuki SX4 Celebration Edition was priced at around Rs. 8.79 lakhs for the ZDi variant (ex-showroom, Mumbai) when it was launched. In terms of on-road pricing, you could expect to add another Rs. 1-1.5 lakhs to account for taxes, registration, and other costs, bringing the total to approximately Rs. 10.29-10.79 lakhs. This pricing is slightly higher than the regular SX4 models, which ranged from Rs. 6.82 lakhs for the base petrol to Rs. 9.17 lakhs for the top-end ZDi variant. The premium for the Celebration Edition seems justified only if you value the unique cosmetic touches, but for most buyers, the regular models might offer better value.
