Our take on this /// Verdict
The Mahindra TUV300 Automatic T10, although it does not exist as Mahindra discontinued the AMT (Automated Manual Transmission) version, would have been an intriguing option if it were available. However, focusing on the manual T10 variant, it is a robust and practical choice for those seeking a rugged sub-4 meter SUV. The TUV300 excels in its ability to handle rough terrain and provides a comfortable ride even on bumpy roads. The 1.5-liter diesel engine, producing 100 bhp and 240 Nm of torque, is highly commendable for its low-end torque and effortless city driving. However, its handling dynamics leave something to be desired, with a slow steering rack and noticeable body roll. Despite these shortcomings, the TUV300 offers excellent visibility, spacious interiors, and a feature-rich package, making it a solid choice for those prioritizing practicality and off-road capability.
Price
The Mahindra TUV300 T10, in its manual form, is priced around Rs. 10.05 lakh ex-showroom. When you factor in the on-road costs, including taxes, registration, and insurance, the price can escalate to approximately Rs. 12-13 lakh, depending on the state and local taxes. This pricing places the TUV300 competitively within the sub-4 meter SUV segment, offering a balance of features, performance, and ruggedness that justifies the cost. However, its important to note that the absence of an automatic transmission option might be a deterrent for some buyers.
