Our take on this /// Verdict
The Mahindra TUV300 T4 Diesel is a robust and practical SUV that caters well to those seeking a rugged, no-frills vehicle for both urban and rural use. While it excels in terms of build quality, with a high-strength steel body shell and standard safety features like dual front airbags and ABS with EBD, it falls short in terms of refinement and top-end performance. The 1.5-liter diesel engine, though efficient in city driving, lacks the punch needed for expressway cruising. The ride quality, though not as cushy as car-based rivals, is manageable, and the steering, though heavy at low speeds, is manageable. Overall, its a great option for those who prioritize durability and practicality over luxury and high-performance capabilities.
Price
The Mahindra TUV300 T4 Diesel is priced competitively in the Indian market. The ex-showroom price for the T4 variant is around Rs. 7.48 lakh, though this can vary slightly depending on the location. When you factor in the on-road costs, including registration, insurance, and other taxes, the price can go up to around Rs. 9-10 lakh. This pricing makes it an attractive option for those looking for a budget-friendly SUV that offers good value for money. However, its important to note that prices can fluctuate based on state-specific taxes and other local factors.
Latest Updates
Wednesday, 20 November 2024 08:51 AM Mahindra is expected to launch the facelifted TUV300 SUV soon, with prices likely starting from Rs 9 lakh onwards. The new model will retain its 1.5-litre diesel engine producing 100PS and 240Nm, paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox. Features will include keyless entry, manual AC, and a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system. I think this update will make the TUV300 more competitive in the sub-4m SUV segment.
Tuesday, 15 October 2024 06:35 PM The Mahindra TUV300 T4 Plus, the top model in the TUV300 lineup, is priced at Rs. 8.59 lakh and offers a mileage of 18.49 kmpl. It comes with safety features like ABS with EBD, dual front airbags, and rear parking sensors. The vehicle also features central locking, speed-sensing door locks, and power windows. I believe these features make it a solid choice for those looking for a safe and feature-packed SUV.
Wednesday, 25 September 2024 09:34 AM The Mahindra TUV300 is known for its spacious cabin and rugged appeal, making it the only seven-seater and body-on-frame SUV in its segment. It is powered by a refined 1.5-litre diesel motor and offers a soft ride quality. However, there is no automatic transmission available, which might be a drawback for some buyers. I think the lack of an automatic option could limit its appeal to some potential buyers.
Friday, 30 August 2024 06:25 AM The TUV300 T4 Plus comes equipped with a 1.5-litre diesel engine, producing 100 bhp and 240 Nm of torque, paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. It also features traction control, which helps in maximizing traction by shuffling torque between wheels. This makes it a reliable option for both on-road and off-road driving. I believe the traction control system is a significant safety feature that enhances the vehicles overall performance.
Saturday, 20 July 2024 06:04 AM Mahindra has discontinued several variants of the TUV300, including the T4 Plus BSIV, T6 Plus BSIV, and T10 BSIV models. However, the company is expected to introduce new variants with updated features and compliance with newer emission norms. This move is part of Mahindras strategy to refresh its product lineup and meet changing market demands. I think this is a positive step towards keeping the TUV300 relevant in the market.
Saturday, 15 June 2024 03:00 AM The Mahindra TUV300 T4 Plus boasts a range of comfort and convenience features, including manual air conditioning, power windows, and steering adjustment. It also has a boot space of 384 litres, making it suitable for family trips and long journeys. Additionally, the vehicle features rear parking sensors and a speed warning system for enhanced safety. I believe these features contribute significantly to the vehicles overall comfort and practicality.
Saturday, 25 May 2024 02:29 PM The TUV300 competes with several other sub-4m SUVs in the Indian market, including the Hyundai Venue, Mahindra XUV300, Tata Nexon, and Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza. Despite the competition, the TUV300 stands out with its unique body-on-frame design and seven-seater capacity. I think its unique selling points help it maintain a loyal customer base.
Saturday, 20 April 2024 03:22 AM Mahindra has emphasized the safety aspects of the TUV300, with features such as dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, and ISOFIX child seat anchors. The vehicle also includes a seat-belt warning and a speed warning system to ensure driver and passenger safety. I believe these safety features are crucial in todays market where safety is a top priority for buyers.
Friday, 15 March 2024 12:08 AM The Mahindra TUV300 T4 Plus has a ground clearance of 184 mm, which is beneficial for navigating rough Indian roads. The vehicle also features a double wish-bone type independent front coil spring suspension and multi-link coil spring suspension with an anti-roll bar at the rear, ensuring a smooth ride. I think this suspension setup is one of the best in its class.
Saturday, 10 February 2024 01:48 AM The on-road price of the Mahindra TUV300 T4 Plus in India is approximately Rs. 9.79 lakh, making it a competitive option in the sub-4m SUV segment. The vehicle offers a blend of ruggedness, comfort, and safety features, making it a viable choice for many buyers. I believe the pricing is reasonable given the features and performance it offers.
Saturday, 20 January 2024 05:54 PM Mahindra has continued to update the TUV300 with modern features while retaining its traditional SUV appeal. The T4 Plus variant includes amenities like central locking, child locks, and an engine immobilizer, enhancing both convenience and security. I think these updates make the TUV300 a more appealing option for modern buyers.

A Good Package From Mahindra

I was quite excited for this SUV from a very long time. It is a good effort by the Indian automaker and has an attractive price as compared to competitors. If we see other compact SUVs, it does drive well and has lots of space and features on offer. It is so spacious that it feels much bigger than its actual size. It has a very boxy design where the alloy wheels look very small and make the design feel incomplete. Its interior look modern and the color combination is quite good. There is lots of legroom at the rear and has enough space for three people. It has a third row with fold-able jump seats and there are no seat-belts. The seats are decently comfortable and overall visibility from the driver's seat is amazing. Its power delivery is good and it has very good low-end and mid-range punch. The top-end is lacking in performance. Braking performance of this SUV is decent but the brake pedal lacks feel. The brakes feel spongy although they do manage to stop the vehicle efficiently. The company has good number of service stations so TUV300 buyers need not worry about servicing.

One of the Best Deals for the Budget Buyers

I was planning to buy EcoSport but because of its five seat configuration, I dropped my plan. Then I thought about 7-seater SUVs but they were out of my budget. But thanks to my friend he suggested me TUV300 and now I am going to book this. Its aggressive look and bold styling give its strong presence on the road. It has high ground clearance and side-foot steps make its convenient for the passenger. I like its interior too which is designed by dual tone dashboard and the premium fabric upholstery. It has two seat arrangement at the third row which is comfortable for kids as well as adult with average built. The headroom and legroom is just wonderful for the stress free ride. Most of it, company has claimed its mileage around 18 kmpl which I think is a decent figure for a SUV. I am very happy with its launch and now waiting for its booking.
