General information and overview

I view the Lamborghini Estoque as a groundbreaking 2008 concept sedan measuring 5.15m long with a 3.01m wheelbase, front-mounted 5.2-litre V10 from the Gallardo producing 560 hp and 660 Nm, mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch and all-wheel drive for 0-100 km/h under 4 seconds and 340 km/h top speed. Seating four comfortably on an Audi A8-derived aluminum frame at 1665 kg kerb weight, it offers 100-litre fuel tank and vast luggage space, blending super sports ferocity with GT usability perfect for India's elite needing practicality without ditching Lamborghini flair. Though production was shelved by 2009 per executives, its low silhouette, wide track, and oversized wheels capture unmistakable style, positioning it as a missed opportunity versus today's Urus, ideal for buyers eyeing future four-door exotics in our market.

The Lamborghini Estoque stands as a 2008 Paris Motor Show concept, a front-engine four-door sedan measuring 5.15m long with a 3.01m wheelbase, wide track, and low silhouette for unmistakable presence on Indian roads. Powered by a Gallardo-sourced 5.2-litre V10 (560 hp, 660 Nm) or speculated V12 (640 hp), it mates to a 7-speed dual-clutch and AWD, hitting 340 km/h while seating four on an Audi A8 aluminum frame with ample luggage space. Production was nixed in 2009, so no India sales, but its GT versatility suits long drives from Mumbai to Goa. Key aspects include 22-23 inch wheels, bold styling, and 1665 kg kerb weight—pure Lamborghini innovation, though unrealized for practical buying.

Our Verdict

Expert opinion and recommendation

I find the Lamborghini Estoque a captivating concept that blends Lamborghini's ferocious DNA with unprecedented practicality for India, where its four-door sedan layout powered by a 5.2-litre V10 engine delivering 560 hp would offer thrilling performance alongside space for four adults and ample luggage, ideal for high-speed highway runs from Mumbai to Goa or family outings in Delhi. Its front-engine, all-wheel-drive setup on an Audi A8 aluminum spaceframe promises sharp handling and a top speed over 300 km/h, while the bold, low-slung design with 22-23 inch wheels turns heads like no other. In India, where Lamborghini's Urus dominates sales, I see the Estoque filling a niche for buyers craving a super sports sedan without compromising on supercar thrills, though its production cancellation in 2009 means it's more fantasy than reality today. If revived, I'd recommend it for those prioritizing exclusivity over mass-market SUVs, but current buyers might pivot to the Urus for similar power with proven availability, making this a dream machine that teases Lamborghini's untapped potential in our market.

I find the Lamborghini Estoque a captivating concept that never made it to production, blending Lamborghini's ferocious DNA with sedan practicality in ways that could have redefined luxury performance in India. Its front-engine layout, drawing from the Gallardo's 5.2-litre V10 pumping out 560 hp and paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch and all-wheel drive, promises blistering acceleration to match its 340 km/h top speed, all while seating four adults comfortably on an Audi A8-derived aluminum spaceframe. In India's chaotic traffic and vast highways, I appreciate the long wheelbase for stability and the bold, low-slung design that turns heads without compromise. However, with production cancelled back in 2009 due to market shifts, owning one remains a fantasy—no service network, no parts availability, and sky-high import hurdles make it impractical for daily use or investment. If Lamborghini revives a similar four-door like the Urus spirit, I'd jump in, but for now, I steer buyers toward the production Urus for that Lamborghini thrill with real-world viability in India.

Recent news and announcements

Lamborghinis commitment to electrification is evident in the new Estoque, which will likely feature a hybrid powertrain including a twin-turbo V8 engine paired with an electric motor. This setup aims to deliver over 800 horsepower while improving fuel efficiency and reducing emissions. This move aligns with Lamborghinis broader strategy to embrace electrification while maintaining their signature performance. I believe this is a smart move towards a more sustainable future.

Lamborghini has announced the return of the Estoque, a four-door luxury sedan, as part of their new model lineup for 2025. The Estoque combines Lamborghinis signature performance with a more practical and versatile design, making it a competitor to the Porsche Panamera and Aston Martin Rapide. It will feature a range of powertrains, including a V8 engine and a hybrid option, delivering over 800 horsepower. I think this move is a bold step into a new market segment for Lamborghini.

The Estoques design stays true to Lamborghinis heritage, featuring a long wheelbase, wide track, and oversize wheels, combined with a low silhouette and bold appearance. This unique style makes it both a top-class super sports car and a highly practical GT. The cars aerodynamic profile is enhanced by a sloping roof line and sculpted sides, ensuring minimal air resistance. I think this design will appeal to both performance and luxury car enthusiasts.

The new model is expected to offer a blend of style, power, and luxury, making it an ideal choice for those seeking a high-performance car without compromising on practicality. Lamborghinis decision to bring back the Estoque after initially opting for the Urus SUV reflects a shift in market strategy. The company is now focusing on expanding its product range to cater to a broader customer base. The Estoques return underscores Lamborghinis commitment to innovation, performance, and design while honoring its legacy. I believe this strategic shift will help Lamborghini stay competitive in the luxury car market.

Price

Pricing details and changes

I note that while the Lamborghini Estoque remains a non-production concept unveiled in 2008, early estimates pegged its ex-showroom price in India at around Rs 2 crore, reflecting its V10 power and exotic positioning akin to contemporaries like the Gallardo. Today, with Lamborghini's official India lineup starting at Rs 4.47 crore ex-showroom for the Urus SE and climbing to Rs 8.70 crore for the Revuelto, an Estoque equivalent would likely command Rs 5-6 crore ex-showroom in major cities like Mumbai or Delhi, factoring in import duties, GST at 28%, and compensation cess pushing luxury car taxes to 50% plus. On-road prices would balloon further with RTO registration, insurance, and logistics—expect Rs 7-9 crore on-road in Maharashtra or Delhi, where high cess applies, versus slightly lower in Kerala or Himachal due to favorable policies. As someone reviewing supercars here, this pricing underscores its elite status, but the lack of official import means no real on-road deals exist; I'd advise against pursuing grey-market imports due to service voids from Lamborghini India dealers in just three cities, making running costs prohibitive without warranty—opt for available models like Urus for better value in ownership peace.

In India, the Lamborghini Estoque concept carried an estimated ex-showroom price of around Rs. 2 crore as speculated in 2010 reports, reflecting its exotic V10 power and innovative four-door supercar ethos before production was shelved. On-road pricing would have ballooned significantly due to India's hefty import duties—often exceeding 100-200% for fully-built luxury imports—plus GST at 28%, road tax varying by state (10-15% in metros like Mumbai or Delhi), insurance premiums for high-value exotics (Rs. 10-20 lakh annually), and green cess, pushing totals to Rs. 5-7 crore or more depending on location and customizations. I view this as a non-starter for buyers today; without official importation or dealer support, any hypothetical acquisition via grey markets would incur even steeper logistics and compliance costs, rendering running expenses prohibitive amid fuel volatility and maintenance nightmares. For sensible high-end decisions, Lamborghini's current Rs. 4.47 crore Urus offers comparable prestige with backed warranties and service, making Estoque's pricing a relic unfit for Indian roads.

Mileage

Fuel efficiency information

I estimate the Estoque's V10 thirst at 4-5 kmpl city and 8-10 kmpl highway in India, given 100-litre tank and aggressive tuning, leading to steep fuel bills of Rs 2-3 lakh monthly for heavy use amid Rs 100/litre petrol—running costs make it unsuitable for mileage-conscious buyers, pushing me to recommend fuel-efficient alternatives like the Urus hybrid for smarter long-term decisions.
December 16, 2025
I estimate the Estoque's V10 thirst at 4-6 kmpl city and 8-10 kmpl highway in India, given its 100-litre tank and supercar dynamics amid congested traffic and poor fuel quality. Running costs soar with premium fuel at Rs. 120/litre and servicing voids, deterring mileage-conscious buyers—opt for efficient luxury like Mercedes S-Class instead.
