Discussions and Questions TVS Raider

Are there any offers available on TVS Raider?
17 April 2025 15:45

Yes, there are several offers available on the TVS Raider. These include cash discounts, exchange offers, and loyalty discounts. For instance, in April 2025, TVS is offering various deals such as cash rewards on bike purchases. The on-road prices for different variants of the TVS Raider also include additional charges like insurance, RTO, and others, but buyers can benefit from competitive EMI options starting from as low as ?1,763 for the Drum variant. Additionally, festive discounts and other promotional offers may be available, making the purchase more affordable.

What is the minimum down payment for the TVS Raider?
17 April 2025 15:45

The minimum down payment for the TVS Raider 125 can vary but generally ranges from 10% to 30% of the ex-showroom price. For example, for the Drum variant priced at around ?1,02,158, the minimum down payment could be approximately ?10,216 to ?30,647. Specifically, the down payment can be as low as ?5,844 for some variants, depending on the lender and the specific model chosen[5).

Which is better, Hero Splendor Plus or TVS Raider?
17 April 2025 15:45

The choice between the Hero Splendor Plus and the TVS Raider depends on several factors, including budget, performance requirements, and personal preferences. The Hero Splendor Plus is cheaper, with an ex-showroom price starting at ?77,176, compared to the TVS Raider which starts at ?85,010. In terms of engine capacity, the TVS Raider has a more powerful 124.8 cc engine producing 11.38 PS of power, whereas the Hero Splendor Plus has a 97.2 cc engine producing 8.02 PS of power. The TVS Raider also offers better performance and a more modern feature set, including a digital speedometer and synchronized braking system. However, the Hero Splendor Plus is known for its reliability, comfort, and lower maintenance costs, with a claimed mileage of around 70 kmpl compared to the TVS Raider's 65-71.94 kmpl. Ultimately, if you prioritize power and modern features, the TVS Raider might be the better choice, but if you are looking for a reliable, cost-effective option with good mileage, the Hero Splendor Plus could be more suitable.

Can I increase the tyre size of TVS Raider 125?
17 April 2025 15:45

You can increase the tyre size of the TVS Raider 125, but it is crucial to do so within a specific margin to maintain performance, handling, and safety. The stock tyre sizes for the TVS Raider 125 are 80/100-17 for the front and 100/90-17 for the rear. For an upgrade, it is advisable to stay within a 3% margin of the original tyre size. For example, upgrading to a 110/80-17 rear tyre, as seen in some reviews, can improve stability and cornering confidence without significant issues. However, it is important to ensure that the new tyre size does not compromise the integrity of the rims or affect the bike's overall geometry. Always check the space between swingarms and sprockets and keep the sidewall height as similar as possible to the original tyres to avoid any potential safety and handling issues[5).

Is the TVS Raider 125 iGO too sporty of a riding position for a commuter?
07 January 2025 11:06
I rode it for a bit and I think it’s too sporty of a position for everyday use. After about 30 minutes in heavy traffic, my wrists start to ache. While it may look cool, it’s not really practical for long commutes.

Some issues that need to be addressed

Deepak Kumar | One year ago

The TVS Raider 125 is a great looking bike with a sporty design. However, it has some issues that need to be addressed. The ground clearance is quite low so it can be a problem while riding on speed breakers. My center stand also has several scratches on it due to the low ground clearance. I would love it if TVS could fix this issue. Overall, the performance of the bike is great and I'm really pleased with it.

Performance is excellent, but the headlight is not quite as good

Harsh Mathur | 2 years ago

I am very pleased with my riding experience on the TVS Raider 125. I have been riding it for more than 4 months now and have already clocked over 3000 km in just 3 months. The overall performance is excellent, but the headlight is not quite as good as that of the old TVS Star City bike. This is because the Raider's low lighting doesn't allow it to reach speeds higher than 60 km/hr. I hope that the makers of the Raider will soon address this issue.

Great bike for city rides

Varun Sharma | 2 years ago

The TVS Raider 125 is a great bike for city rides. It is nimble and easy to maneuver through tight spaces. The engine is powerful enough to get you through the city but needs some refinement if you plan on taking it on longer rides. The price range is great and gives a good value for money. The digital meter could be better, as it lags in responding and needs improvement. The servicing at showroom is of good worth and maintenance is not too much of a challenge. The pros include great looks, good performance in the city and low maintenance costs. The cons include an overall fiber body which may not be suitable for long rides.

The bike also has a sporty undertone with its orange accents. It all comes together to give the bike an appealing and attractive look.
