USER OPINION

Our take on this /// Verdict
The Suzuki Gixxer ABS is a compelling option in the Indian motorcycle market, particularly for those seeking a blend of performance, style, and safety. The bikes 155cc air-cooled engine, though not the most powerful, delivers smooth and refined performance, making it suitable for both city commuting and occasional spirited riding. The dual-channel ABS enhances braking confidence, and the MRF ZVTS tires provide good grip and handling. However, the bikes comfort, especially for long rides, is a mixed bag the seat padding is not ideal, and the pillion seat is quite short. Despite some minor issues with service quality and parts availability, the Gixxers overall build quality and maintenance costs are commendable. For young riders and those who value a sporty, agile motorcycle, the Gixxer ABS is a solid choice, but it may not be the best fit for family-oriented or long-distance riding.
Price
In India, the Suzuki Gixxer ABS is priced competitively within its segment. The ex-showroom price typically ranges between 1.25 lakh to 1.35 lakh, depending on the region and any local taxes. On-road prices, including registration, insurance, and other costs, can go up to around 1.50 lakh to 1.60 lakh. This pricing makes the Gixxer ABS an attractive option for those looking for a feature-packed motorcycle without breaking the bank. However, its important to note that prices can vary slightly based on the state and local dealership, so its always a good idea to check with local dealers for the most accurate pricing.

Quick Review by Maxabout Team

Suzuki Motorcycles India launched their updated Gixxer in May 2018 and it comes equipped with Anti-Lock Braking System, commonly referred to as ABS. This all new model from the Japanese manufacturer will get the same single-channel ABS as its bigger sibling, the Suzuki Gixxer SF. The rest of the cosmetics and mechanical machinery of the Gixxer remains the same. The new model equipped with ABS will be priced at Rs 87,250 (ex-showroom Delhi). This makes the 2018 Gixxer with ABS Rs 6,321 more expensive than the rear-disc variant and Rs 10,234 more expensive than the basic single disc brake variant.

The 2018 Suzuki Gixxer equipped with ABS comes with a 154.9 cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine. This 4-stroke engine churns out 14.6 bhp of power at 8000 rpm and gives out maximum torque of 14 Nm at 6000 rpm. This engine is coupled with a 5-speed gearbox which gives out an average mileage of 45 kmpl. The bike has a fuel tank capacity of 12 liters and measures at 2050 mm in length, 785 mm in width, and 1030 mm in height. The ground clearance of street bike measures at 160 mm and it has a curb weight of 135 kg. The front suspension of the new model is telescopic while the rear is a swing arm, mono suspension.

Some of the key features of the Suzuki Gixxer with ABS include a digital speedometer, a digital tachometer, a digital trip meter, and a digital fuel gauge. This new model with ABS is available in three colors for the Indian market; a blue color named Metallic Triton Blue, a red color named Candy Sonoma Red and a black color named Glass Sparkle Black. The Gixxer sets a standard in the segment with its performance being on par with its competitors and a wide range of technological equipment.
