Honda has issued a recall for the CBR1000RR-R SP Fireblade in the USA. The recall, which is due to a faulty oil cooler pipe affects 331 units sold from April 2020 to October 2021. That is 100 per cent of the bikes sold between that period. Now, the oil cooler pipe in these units of the CBR1000RR-R SP overheat, melt and rupture causing oil to leak onto the exhaust pipe or even the rear tyre, posing a serious safety risk. The issue was reported in Japan first with other reports from Europe and America following through.

The 2025 Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP has been certified by CARB, indicating its upcoming availability in the US market. This model boasts significant updates, including a freshly tuned engine, Öhlins third-generation smart suspension, and new aerodynamic winglets. The bike also features a larger TFT display and improved braking with Brembo Stylema front calipers. I think these updates make the Fireblade SP an even more formidable track-ready bike.
