XTEC’s single-cylinder, the air-cooled engine generates a maximum power of 9 HP and 10.4 Nm of peak torque. The performance of this engine is very good for city use and the acceleration is spot-on & the amount of low-end torque is also very addictive. They coupled the BS6-compliant engine of the XTEC with an automatic Variomatic (a stepless, fully automatic transmission comprising a V-shaped drive-belt) Drive transmission system with a dry, centrifugal clutch.

Hero has suspended the new Destini 125 XTEC on the Telescopic, Hydraulic Shock Absorbers in front and the Unit Swing with Spring Loaded Hydraulic Damper in the rear. They outfitted the Destini 125 XTEC with 10-inch steel wheels (alloy optional) and tubeless 90/100 - 10 tyres on both ends. A combination of 130 mm drum brakes at both ends completes the braking duties. The combination of both brakes aids in stopping the Destini in the required amount of time.
