Hero Destini 125 XTEC Review
Detailed Review by Maxabout Team
Overview
The 110cc scooter segment in India has reached saturation, causing the 125cc scooter segment to become popular recently. Clearly, all the major players want to be a part of this newly formed special club. And Hero MotoCorp has picked the Destini 125 to play its hand. The Destini 125 made its debut under a different name at the 2018 Auto Expo in February, and it ultimately hit the market nine months later in October. Now the Destini 125 is further updated with the release of the latest Hero Destini 125 XTEC.
Hero Destini 125 XTEC Design and Style
2024 Destini 125 XTEC has a similar overall design to the Destini scooter. Its subtle curves and wide-body panels make it appear larger than it really is. Hero Destini 125 XTEC employs a rectangle headlight with an LED configuration. Hero has used the chrome extensively around the headlights, front body panels, and rearview mirrors. The single-seat is spacious and wide, and it has a backrest for the rear passenger. They have outfitted the rear end of the scooter with a big taillight and stretched-out indicators with the fuel cap also at the back of the vehicle. Hero has added a new colour option and an optional pillion backrest to the Destini 125 XTEC.
The new Hero Destini 125 Xtec's proportions are adequate for class norms. The general shape and dimensions of the Destini Xtec give it the appearance of a large-capacity scooter. While the design has aged, Destini's overall dimensions still make it a good-looking scooter in the category. The Destini 125 Xtec is still one of the largest scooters in its class.
Hero Destini 125 XTEC Engine and Gearbox
Hero has equipped the new Destini 125 XTEC with the same reliable & tested 124.6cc, Air Cooled, 4 Stroke, SI engine equipped with the company's i3s engine start-stop technology. XTEC’s single-cylinder, the air-cooled engine generates a maximum power of 9 HP and 10.4 Nm of peak torque. The performance of this engine is very good for city use and the acceleration is spot-on & the amount of low-end torque is also very addictive. They coupled the BS6-compliant engine of the XTEC with an automatic Variomatic (a stepless, fully automatic transmission comprising a V-shaped drive-belt) Drive transmission system with a dry, centrifugal clutch.
Hero Destini 125 XTEC Suspension, Brakes and Tyres
Hero has suspended the new Destini 125 XTEC on the Telescopic, Hydraulic Shock Absorbers in front and the Unit Swing with Spring Loaded Hydraulic Damper in the rear. They outfitted the Destini 125 XTEC with 10-inch steel wheels (alloy optional) and tubeless 90/100 - 10 tyres on both ends. A combination of 130 mm drum brakes at both ends completes the braking duties. The combination of both brakes aids in stopping the Destini in the required amount of time.
Instrument Console of Hero Destini 125 XTEC
2024 Hero Destini 125 XTEC comes with a simple instrument cluster that includes an analogue speedometer and a digital display for fuel level, odometer, trip meter, and a service reminder. The instrument cluster also has the regular warning lights, as well as one for the i3s tech and a side stand indicator. The switchgear is also quite standard, with a pass-flash switch integrated into the high-beam toggle.
Key Features of Hero Destini 125 XTEC
Some of the key new Hero Destini 125 XTEC features include - Digi Analog Speedometer, Halogen Headlamp, Chrome Theme, i3s Technology, Seat Backrest (Optional), Mobile Charging Port (Optional), Boot Lamp (Optional), Plain Black Seat, Black Mirror Assembly, Silver Muffler Protector and IBS (Integrated Braking System).
Top Speed and Mileage of Hero Destini 125 XTEC
2024 Hero Destini 125 XTEC mileage is 50 kmpl (approximate) and in terms of performance, the 125cc scooter can speed up from 0 to 60 km/h in around 8 seconds with a top speed of 90 km/h (approximate).
Hero Destini 125 XTEC Colour Options
As per the official Hero MotoCorp website, the new Hero Destini 125 XTEC is available in 7 colours; Nexus Blue, Matte Black, Pearl Silver White, Nobel Red, Panther Black, Chestnut Brown and Matte Ray Silver.
Hero Destini 125 XTEC Competitors
Honda Activa 125, Suzuki Access 125, TVS Ntorq 125, Aprilia SR 125, TVS Jupiter 125, and Yamaha Fascino 125 are some competitors that rival the new Hero Destini 125 XTEC.
Conclusion
2024 Hero Destini 125 is a family-oriented scooter with an engine geared for mileage rather than performance. Stylish, comfy, and well-equipped, with better mileage than many scooters in the same class. Its suspension is excellent, and the i3s system and IBS operate better than in earlier versions. This BS6-compliant bike is a stunningly beautiful and eye-catching machine that is smooth to ride and extremely comfortable over long distances.

User Reviews for Hero Destini
Overall Good Vehicle
It's very good when it comes to performance and also I think the mileage provided by this scooter is also amazing. There are no such big grievances about this scooter. The seating at the back is also something to be appreciated. The only issue with this scooter that I have found so far is that it doesn't have any side stand that actually degrades the experience, this needs to be taken into consideration by the makers.
