I am from sourabh kumar, Ballabgarh (faridabad), working as a Sr. Executive HR & Personnel. I have to travel near about 50+ Kms daily. At present I am using Star City and I am planning to buy a new bike, I am in confusion that in the market there are lots of brand which I should choose. I need a bike which should have good mileage, Bit powerful, Low maintenance cost, Spare part availability, Service. Also i dont want to invest too much on the bike. I am looking at the options like 100CC segment or 125CC segment. I am thinking about the following bikes: Discover 100cc, Splender plus and star city Among the above bikes, which one is good for me? I have a major complain about this bike, actually bike is good but the service part of the company is very poor. And one think don't believe that the company gives you 5 years warranty Its doesn't. My bike has a service issue, actually a part has been broken but I did not get any replacement whether its just 4 months old. I dont know why should they do this but really I am suffering a big problem. And now I just decided to change the bike immediately. Now I am thinking that why should I go for this bike. My hardly request to my all friend please dont go for this bike if you want a better service. Many time a have lounged complain but no one response.

I have been using Star City since 2007 without any hassle. The bike now has run more than 56000 kms. Its very good, comfortable, almost maintenance free and fuel efficient. Only thing is that if any spare need to change, either you need to go to their authorised outlets or have to check 5-6 auto spare shops, spares availability is less as compared to Hero or Honda spares, which you can find anywhere in market.

The seating is very comfortable for city as well as long rides. You can easily control the bike even in high speeds.. The ride quality and handiling of this bike is simply superb. The top speed I have achived is 95kmph, fair enough for a 110cc bike.

TVS star city 110 is what i would prefer if you are not driving it locally, as it has sufficient weight to withstand the push of the vehicle travelling by your side... discover, and other 100 cc bikes are of less weight and hence will be pushed easily. this is one big reason for accident says experts.

Hi Guys, I’m Anoop from Bangalore.TVS Star City 110 is an excellent bike. I have 2010 model, a purple color one . It has got a strong and powerful engine which is very reliable. The bike is compact but still gives the feel of a big bike. The self start has not given me any problem in the cold climate. But it’s better to use kick start if the engine is cold. It can easily catch up with few 125cc bikes like Honda Shine, Suzuki Slingshot and Hero Honda Super Splendor and Glamour siblings. The seating is very comfortable for city as well as long rides. You can easily control the bike even in high speeds even if there is negligible amount of vibration. The ride quality and handiling of this bike is simply superb. The top speed I have achived is 95kmph, fair enough for a 110cc bike. But it takes a hell lot of time to reach its top speed once it crosses 80kmph in the speedo. Normally I used to get a mileage anywhere between 58kmpl to 65KMPL (depending on the way I ride). It has even given me 75kmpl+ few times. After I bought a car (Chevy Beat), I did not take much care of the bike. Once when I checked the mileage recently it was giving a mileage only ranging from 47kmpl to 52kmpl. I took it to a mechanic to check on this. He did the right turning for the engine. I filled petrol for Rs 50 when it went to reserve. The amount of petrol filled was 0.68ltrs. It went for 54kms until it went to the next reserve. So the mileage would be 54/0.68, the mileage I got was 79.4kmpl without hampering the pickup of the bike. It has done close to 12000kms now. I have not spent much on the maintance part. Only regular oil change and service. Apart from that I have changed the front break shoe once and the rear tyre which is necessary as time passes. Overall I am very happy with this bike.

Hey karamchand,

I think that u should must prefer bajaj discover 100 which gives a very good mileage of about 80 kmpl in cities and 85-90 on highways. and also its price is very low something around Rs. 45000. But the main problem is that it is not very reliable like hero honda because it is a Bajaj.
