Overview - Santro Xing Is Best Hatchback In Its Segment
Santro is a affordable small car that makes great sense, the Xing is an outstanding package comprising a well-equipped car, superior technology, roomy interiors and the stamp of reliability. Santro Xing is the first choice for many prospective buyers who want a affordable, hassle free, spacious and comfortable hatchback.
As expected Hyundai has launched the facelifted santro on 1st September, 2009 but it is not a major facelift. You need a trained eye to spot the difference. Following are some additions in New Santro Xing:

But we expected more from Hyundai and thought they may pick some or all design cues from Kia Picanto. May be they have kept the major changes for the 2010 model of Santro.

Design & Interiors Of New Santro Xing
The headlight's styling of Santro Xing is followed also by the taillights with the very fashionable multifaceted diffusers comprising of clear polycarbonate covers, also the LED brake light is placed the middle of the boot spoiler. The interior of the Santro Xing is more spacious than it appears, with more than adequate head and leg room space. The seats are very comfortable compared to other cars of its class and upholstered in a very pleasant fabric rather than vinyl.
Inside, Santro Xing boasts of several significant design revisions with premium sophisticated new fabric in Dual Tone Beige & Brown with premium silver touches at multiple locations which adds significantly to the spacious interiors and enhances the visual appeal of the interiors. A Rear Parcel Tray has been added in Santro Xing to provide convenient storing for utility items. The new sporty front seats add to the style and comfort factors.
The dashboard has a sunken to look and is provided with two oddment trays that are moulded into it. This leaves many other cars in its class behind as they basically just have an expanse of plastic. The visual instruments of Santro Xing such as the speedometer fuel gauge or the coolant temperature is all housed in an oval shaped binnacle. The straight forward controls are housed in a plain black console and the radio or the cd player fits under the very pleasant working air conditioner. In Santro Xing a lidded glove compartment on the left, the two cup holders available between two front seats, the availability of a map pocket on either front door or a plastic storage tray under each front seat provide lots of places to put different things in.
Engine & Suspension Of New Santro Xing
New Santro Xing continues to be powered by the trusted 1.1 eRLX Epsilon engine that develops 62 Bhp at 5500rpm as maximum power and 98 Nm at 3000rpm as maximum torque and has a proven fuel-economy, durability and power-efficiency. The clutch of Santro Xing is light and the gear shift is positive and very responsive. On flat and level surfaces the Santro Xing can go up to 145km/h on the speedometer quite easily even with the air-conditioner on high.
The car has a suspension powered by struts McPherson in front with an H torsion beam for the rear wheels. The car is equipped with ventilated disc brakes in the front and drum brakes for the rear wheels. Even in the absence of the anti-lock break system the car manages to stop smoothly.
Safety, Shades & Price Of New Santro Xing
Hyundai has also masterfully engineered in many passive safety features. These include vertical and lateral crumple zones, the positioning of side impact bars in the doors and a crossbar also put under the dashboard. The roof panel, rather than moving down under an impact is designed to pop upwards.
