Maruti Suzuki is India's largest automobile manufacturers and has numerous legendary vehicles in their stable. They revolutionize the Indian automobile market in a way that none did and are also responsible of providing both low budget vehicles and costlier ones. Maruti Ritz is one among those hatchbacks which shows high potential with great performing engine and exceptional design. Recently, diesel engine variants are also added to this superfluous hatchback.
The exterior of Maruti Ritz Diesel shows a unique tall boy design and has angular bonnet, stretched multi-reflector headlights, body colored front bumper, sporty fog lights at front and rear, a large and deep nose, stylish front grille divided from the air dam by its number plate and has company's logo in its middle, sporty 14-inch alloy wheels, rear spoiler, body side mouldings, electrically adjustable body colored ORVMs, roof antenna, rear window wiper, washer and defogger and Boomerang tail lamps. It has a length of 3775mm, width of 1687mm and height of 1620mm as its dimensions and has a large wheelbase of 2360mm for a stable ride. It has a good ground clearance of 170mm for a bump-free ride and a minimum turning radius of 4.7m for easy cruising in city traffic and in tight parking spots. It has a curb weight between 1100-1125kgs and a fuel tank capacity of 43liters.
The interior of Maruti Ritz Diesel also has some beautiful and eye-catching features such as dual-toned dark grey and red interiors, premium fabric upholstery, 60:40 split rear seats, height adjustable driver seat, driver and front passenger back seat pocket, front passenger seat under tray, front seat head restraints and two rear seats head restraints, day and night internal rear view mirror, front passenger side sun visor with vanity mirror, light off and key off reminders, driver side seat belt reminder, a tachometer, a digital clock, a multi-information display, an accessory socket, a HVAC, instrument panel pockets, parking brake indicator, front door pocket, cup holders in console, door closure warning lamp, a cooled glove box, a quality music system with CD, Radio, USB and 2 front and 2 rear speakers, AC vents, fabric insert on door trims, keyless entry, double horn, tilted power steering with audio controls, shopping bag hook, coin receptacle, dash mounted gear shift lever, an elegant waterfall console and a boot space of 178 litres.
Maruti Ritz Diesel has a 1248cc, 1.3L, ERG cooled, 4-cylinder, 16-valve, DOHC based DDiS engine with a maximum power of 74 bhp at 4000 rpm and a maximum torque of 190 Nm at 2000 rpm and has a five speed manual gearbox transmission. It provides a top speed of 163kmph and reaches 0-60kmph mark in just 5.9 seconds with a mileage of 18.6kmpl in the cities and 23.2kmpl on the highways.
Maruti Ritz Diesel has ventilated disk brakes at front and drum brakes at rear. The suspension system consists of MacPherson Strut and Coil Springs at front while Torsion Beam and Coil Spring at rear. For the safety, it has dual front Airbags, iCATS immobiliser, front and rear fog lamps, ABS with EBD, power 5-door locks, front ELR seat belts with shoulder adjustment, side3-point ELR belts and middle lap belts.
