Royal Enfield Starts New Production Plant

World's oldest motorcycle company Royal Enfield has started its new manufacturing plant at Oragadam, Tamil Nadu. This new plant spreads over 50 acres and Royal Enfield has invested over INR 150 crore. Its estimated production capacity is of 15,000 units and has been built to tackle the growing demand of  Enfield bikes. Royal Enfield has been witnessing a sudden rise in demand in the Indian market for some period now. The retro brand in the past two year has registered a growth of 50 percent in sales each year.

This new plant took only 11 months to become functional. It houses a new CED paint shop with 600 motorcycles per day capacity, a new robotic painting system and a powder coating system for reducing wastage. Along with that it also has a 1.4 km test track for testing the motorcycles before they leave the plant.
