Royal Enfield to Launch Thunderbird 500 on 11th October

Royal Enfield will launch the Thunderbird 500 on the 11th October in India. The Thunderbird 500 will be the flagship bike in Royal Enfield’s range and is expected to be pricier than every other Royal Enfield bike in India. First unveiled at the 2012 Indian Auto Expo, the launch of the Thunderbird 500 has taken full 10 months. The motorcycle will feature a twin spark, single cylinder engine. The UCE (Unit Construction Engine) engine that displaces 499cc is the biggest single cylinder engine to power a motorcycle in the Indian motorcycle market this side of the CBU imports. The engine is air cooled. The engine produces 27.2 Bhp of power but generates a loud amount of torque. The Thunderbird 500's engine will be mated to  5 speed manual gearbox while the engine will feature fuel injection as standard.
