Feb 2024’s Top Scooters: Activa, Jupiter, Access, Ola, iQube, Chetak

The two-wheeler segment in India has experienced notable growth in February 2024 compared to the same period in 2023. Building upon our previous reports on the top 10 two-wheelers and motorcycles sold last month, let's delve into the top 10 scooters sold during February 2024.

Top 10 Scooters: February 2024 vs. February 2023

Major players in the scooter segment include Honda, TVS, Hero MotoCorp, Suzuki, and Bajaj, each boasting at least one model in the top 10 scooter list. In the electric segment, Ola leads in sales with its S1 scooter. Top 10 scooter sales totaled 4,78,414 units in February 2024, marking a 36.32 percent increase from the 3,50,941 units sold in February 2023, while month-on-month (MoM) sales grew by 6.77 percent from 4,48,087 units sold in January 2024.

Honda Activa maintained its position as the highest-selling scooter, capturing a 41.83 percent share with 2,00,134 units sold last month. This represents a year-on-year (YoY) growth of 14.90 percent from 1,74,503 units sold in February 2023. Month on month, it increased by 15.18 percent from 1,73,760 units sold in January 2024, resulting in volume growth of 25,631 units YoY and 26,374 units MoM.

TVS Jupiter secured the second spot with 73,860 units sold, up 37.05 percent YoY, accounting for a 15.44 percent share. However, it experienced a marginal MoM decline of 0.49 percent from 74,225 units sold in January 2024. Suzuki Access also witnessed YoY and MoM growth with 56,473 units sold last month, marking a 40.50 percent increase from February 2023 and a slight 1.96 percent improvement from January 2024. Additionally, the Access contributed to the company's milestone production of 1 million two-wheelers in FY 2023-24.

In the electric scooter segment, Ola S1 nearly doubled its sales to 33,846 units in February 2024, up 90.43 percent YoY and 4.94 percent MoM. Notable growth was also seen in Honda Dio (including Dio 125 sales), with 25,312 units sold, representing a 74.70 percent YoY increase and a marginal 0.79 percent MoM improvement.

TVS Ntorq Sales Decline MoM

While TVS Ntorq reported outstanding YoY growth in February 2024, with sales reaching 24,911 units, up 45.47 percent from February 2023, its sales dipped 8.51 percent MoM from January 2024.

Suzuki Burgman and Hero Destini also saw YoY and MoM improvements in sales, reaching 17,433 units and 17,433 units, respectively, with Hero Destini experiencing a significant 164.98 percent YoY growth from February 2023. The list of top 10 scooters concluded with the TVS iQube and Bajaj Chetak, both showing marginal YoY and MoM improvements in sales.
