Skoda is gearing up for the next generation of its flagship sedan the Superb despite the growing popularity of SUVs. The Czech automaker has given us a sneak peek of the model with a couple of design sketches ahead of its global unveiling on November 2. The new Superb will continue to be available in both sedan and station wagon body styles but in India, we can expect the sedan version.
Design of the New Skoda Superb
The upcoming Superb showcases an evolutionary design that adheres to Skoda's 'Modern Solid' theme. Up front, the distinctive Butterfly grille is flanked by LED Matrix headlamps, featuring fresh LED daytime running light (DRL) insignia, and the front bumper has also received a facelift with sharper lines and creases for a more modern appearance.
The Superb's sleek flowing lines and distinctive elegance are still present in its silhouette. There are new alloy wheel options that improve the vehicle's overall appearance. At the rear, updated LED taillights with a new insignia and a restyled bumper round out the design.
2024 Skoda Superb Interiors
Skoda provided a glimpse of the Superb's interior earlier this year showcasing a minimalist dashboard design equipped with a 13-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster. Notably, physical dials are retained, housing screens for climate control, infotainment functions, and seat ventilation and heating, and the combination of modern tech and tactile controls offers a user-friendly and sophisticated cabin.
Powertrain Details of the 4th-Gen Skoda Superb
The next-generation Superb will offer a comprehensive range of internal combustion engine (ICE) powertrains including turbo-petrol, diesel, mild-hybrid, and strong-hybrid options. All engines will come with automatic transmissions as standard and these powertrain choices provide a versatile and efficient driving experience catering to various preferences and requirements.
Expected India Launch
The new Skoda Superb is expected to make its debut in the Indian market in 2024. With an expected starting price of approximately Rs 35 lakh (ex-showroom), it will compete with models like the Toyota Camry while serving as an attractive alternative to vehicles such as the BMW 2 Series and the Mercedes-Benz A-Class Limousine.
