Next-Gen Skoda Superb: Global Debut Set for November 2

Skoda is set to unveil the highly anticipated next-generation Superb, sharing a glimpse of its final design ahead of its global debut on November 2. While the all-new Superb will be available for international sale early next year, Skoda is gearing up to reintroduce the current-generation model in India, albeit in limited quantities.

Key Highlights

  • New Superb's design is influenced by Skoda's Modern Solid design theme.
  • Improved ergonomics, increased cabin space, and enhanced practicality are key highlights.
  • The interior features high-quality materials, customizable rotary controllers, an all-new infotainment system, and sustainable materials.
  • Three rotary controllers below the 13-inch touchscreen enable control over various functions.
  • The new Superb will be equipped with four USB-C ports, massage seats, and four-way adjustable lumbar support.
  • Exterior design modifications include new, slim daytime running lights and restyled rear lights.
  • The Superb will share its architecture with the jointly developed Volkswagen Passat and adopt updates in line with Skoda's latest design trends.

Interior Upgrades

The interior of the next-gen Superb will sport a completely revamped design with higher-quality materials, customizable rotary controllers, a brand-new infotainment system, and sustainable materials. Skoda has incorporated three rotary controllers below the 13-inch touchscreen infotainment system, featuring a 32mm digital display. The outer knobs control seat heating, while the central one handles various functions such as infotainment volume, fan speed, air conditioning, driving modes, and zoom on the sat-nav. The interior also boasts four USB-C ports, massage seats, and four-way adjustable lumbar support, with the gear selector now positioned on the steering column.

Exterior Transformation

The exterior design has undergone significant changes, featuring new slender daytime running lights and revamped rear lights. The new Superb shares its architecture with the jointly developed Volkswagen Passat and aligns with Skoda's updated design language, reflected in the new Kodiaq.

Global Engine Line-Up

The upcoming Superb will offer a range of powertrain options, including three petrol engines, two diesel engines, and a plug-in hybrid variant. All these options will come with automatic gearboxes as standard, ensuring a seamless driving experience.

India-Specific Details

While the global debut of the new Skoda Superb is right around the corner, Skoda is also reviving the current-generation Superb for the Indian market. The previous Superb was discontinued due to the implementation of BS6 Phase-II emissions norms. Skoda confirmed earlier this year that it is evaluating plans to reintroduce the Superb to the Indian market. The sedan, making its return, will be offered as a full import and will be available in limited numbers.

Skoda is poised to offer an exciting future for Superb enthusiasts with both the new generation and the return of the current model. The global debut on November 2 will shed more light on the advancements in design, features, and capabilities that the next-gen Superb will bring to the international market.
