Is the premium the Kushaq commands over its rivals worth it for its build quality and long term reliability?

I'm not convinced. It's sure well built, but I've heard horror stories about spare part costs and service issues. It's not just the initial cost that is the premium.

It's a mixed bag. Great build quality, although reliability is still unknown. They improved, but they are not at Maruti or Hyundai levels of reliability yet.

I love the driving experience for me. It just feels a more engaging car to drive than its rivals. If you are an enthusiast, that's worth paying extra for.

I’m not sure it depends on your priorities. The Kushaq is an excellent car if you want one that feels premium and enjoy driving. If, however, peace of mind and low running costs are your priorities, then look elsewhere.

Build quality is good, but I don’t think it’s 2-3 lakhs better than a Creta or Seltos. To really justify the premium, Skoda needs to up their after sales game.

But if you ask me, a year into owning the Kushaq, it’s worth it. It feels as solid as day one, so far no major issues. Service costs are higher than my previous Hyundai, but yeah.
With the launch of the Kylaq, is the Skoda Kushaq 1.0 TSI becoming obsolete?

The Kushaq is not obsolete in any way! Still the better built, more premium feel of the whole package still makes it a solid choice. The Kylaq might be cheaper, but you get what you pay for.
With the launch of the Kylaq, is the Skoda Kushaq 1.0 TSI becoming obsolete?

I feel the Kushaq 1.0 is most certainly on unstable ground now. Why should you pay more for essentially the same car? Skoda really need to think again about their pricing strategy.
With the launch of the Kylaq, is the Skoda Kushaq 1.0 TSI becoming obsolete?
07 January 2025 05:16
Skoda is not obsolete; they just need to do more. Perhaps, cut back some features or bring the price down a little, to keep up with the competition. The Kylaq are really putting some pressure on them.
With the launch of the Kylaq, is the Skoda Kushaq 1.0 TSI becoming obsolete?

It honestly depends, I believe. That European car feel is still there in the Kushaq, something that people still really want. Price and features aren’t the only things.

Now as a Kushaq owner I am a bit worried about resale value. I love my car and it still offers something the Kylaq can’t match when it comes to driving experience.
With the launch of the Kylaq, is the Skoda Kushaq 1.0 TSI becoming obsolete?

The Kushaq has been around longer, proven itself, and we cannot forget that. We still don't know how reliable the Kylaq is going to be in the long term.

I don’t think it’s too harsh to call it obsolete. However, the Kushaq still has its place, but it’ll need some changes as Skoda faces this new competition.
On Indian roads, how does the Kushaq ride quality compare to its competitors?

I have driven the Kushaq extensively and believe it is a great balance. You feel sporty but it soaks up bumps well. Way better than my old Creta.

Honestly, the ride of the Kushaq is a bit too stiff for Indian roads. On smooth highways, it’s great; in the city, it’s jarring over potholes and speed breakers.
On Indian roads, how does the Kushaq ride quality compare to its competitors?

It's firmer than a Creta for sure, but that's not a bad thing. At high speeds, the Kushaq feels more planted and more confident. I'm happy with that trade off.

It all depends on what you're used to. Being from a Maruti, the Kushaq felt really plush to me. My friend who owns a Seltos says it's too firm, though.
On Indian roads, how does the Kushaq ride quality compare to its competitors?

The ride is fine, but I would have liked for Skoda to have tuned it a bit softer for India. It's sometimes like they just copied the European setup without taking our roads into account.
On Indian roads, how does the Kushaq ride quality compare to its competitors?

In fact, I actually prefer the firmer ride of the Kushaq. It makes me feel more connected to the road and gives better feedback. Not all love a floating carpet ride.

It's a mixed bag. Good on the highways, but a tad harsh in the city. I think adjustable suspension would be a good option for Skoda.
