How user friendly is the Kodiaq's infotainment system?
06 January 2025 10:46
The software is a bit dated and the hardware is fine. I can only hope that Skoda has a policy of running updates to the add new features and fix bugs.
How user friendly is the Kodiaq's infotainment system?

The wireless charging pad has given me trouble: it’s very finicky on how it likes the phone to be placed. Apart from that, no big complaints. For my purposes, it's user friendly enough.
Does the third row of the Skoda Kodiaq really offer usable space?
06 January 2025 10:46
Definitely tight back there, but works for kids or short adults on short trips. But I wouldn't want to be trapped there for a long trip.
Does the third row of the Skoda Kodiaq really offer usable space?
06 January 2025 10:46
I regularly use the third row for my kids' friends and it has been great. It folds up and down easy and the kids don't complain about space.
Does the third row of the Skoda Kodiaq really offer usable space?
06 January 2025 10:46
I really think that's more of an emergency option. In the two years that I have had the Kodiaq, I’ve only used it a handful of times. It's nice to have, but I wouldn't buy it for the third row.
Does the third row of the Skoda Kodiaq really offer usable space?
06 January 2025 10:46
I'm 6'2' so, technically, I can fit back there but it's not comfortable. It's OK for kids or smaller adults, but I wouldn't put anyone through it for more than a short trip.
Does the third row of the Skoda Kodiaq really offer usable space?
06 January 2025 10:46
I think it depends on what you expect. It’s cramped, compared to a proper MPV, yeah. For an SUV of this size, it’s not bad. Just don't expect miracles.
Does the third row of the Skoda Kodiaq really offer usable space?
06 January 2025 10:46
Our kids use ours all the time for carpooling. It’s not luxurious, but it works. A sliding second row is a big help in balancing space between the rows.
Does the third row of the Skoda Kodiaq really offer usable space?
06 January 2025 10:46
The third row is perfectly usable for my needs. It’s not as spacious as other rows, but when grandparents are coming to visit or we need to haul around extra kids, it’s a godsend.
Is the Skoda Kodiaq a premium worth the extra outlay over mainstream SUVs?
06 January 2025 10:46
Absolutely worth it. Without the crazy luxury car price tag, the Kodiaq feels like a proper premium product. Build quality is top notch and you get features like the virtual cockpit you’d normally only see in much more expensive cars.
Is the Skoda Kodiaq a premium worth the extra outlay over mainstream SUVs?
06 January 2025 10:46
It depends on what you’re looking for I’d say. It’s a practical family hauler with a few nice touches if that’s what you’re after. If you’re looking for real luxury and prestige, though, you’d be better off saving for an entry BMW or Audi.
Is the Skoda Kodiaq a premium worth the extra outlay over mainstream SUVs?
06 January 2025 10:46
I’ve owned a Hyundai Tucson, and now a Kodiaq, and the difference is obvious. It’s just more substantial, more refined. It’s not just about features, but how everything fits together.
Is the Skoda Kodiaq a premium worth the extra outlay over mainstream SUVs?
06 January 2025 10:46
I honestly think it's overpriced for what it is. You’re paying a premium for the Skoda badge, which doesn’t carry the same cache as real luxury brands. For less, you could get a fully loaded Tata Harrier or MG Hector.
Is the Skoda Kodiaq a premium worth the extra outlay over mainstream SUVs?
06 January 2025 10:46
It's a tough call. There is nothing wrong with the Kodiaq being nice, but you're in that weird place in the middle. I test drove one and loved it, but ultimately went with a base model BMW X1. It just carries more weight.
Is the Skoda Kodiaq a premium worth the extra outlay over mainstream SUVs?
06 January 2025 10:46
I've had the Kodiaq for two years now and I would say it’s worth every penny. It's very hard to beat the space, the comfort, the package. Plus, it’s a little off the radar – you get luxury but not too flashy.
Is the Skoda Kodiaq a premium worth the extra outlay over mainstream SUVs?
06 January 2025 10:46
I believe people underestimate the power of good engineering. The chassis tuning and overall driving experience is a cut above a mainstream option, and while the Kodiaq lacks the bells and whistles of a luxury SUV, it’s the best of those mainstream models.
Can we rely on the Skoda Kodiaq to survive the long haul?
06 January 2025 10:46
I’ve had my Kodiaq for three years now and it’s been rock solid. None of it was a big deal, it was just normal maintenance. Skoda has really improved in terms of reliability, I think.
Can we rely on the Skoda Kodiaq to survive the long haul?
06 January 2025 10:46
It’s not Toyota reliable but it’s decent. And you’re going to have to be on top of maintenance, particularly DSG transmission. It should serve you well if you do.
Can we rely on the Skoda Kodiaq to survive the long haul?
06 January 2025 10:46
It hasn't been a good experience for me. An infotainment system and some electrical gremlins had caused us issues. Not much, but annoying for a car at this price.
Can we rely on the Skoda Kodiaq to survive the long haul?
06 January 2025 10:46
It depends a lot on how you treat the car I think. If you service it well and don't stress it out too much, it'll be fine. It's not a car you can ignore and expect to run perfectly.
