Discussions and Questions - Bajaj CT125X Bajaj CT125X
Is the CT125X Drum only a city commuter, or can it really handle long distance touring?
15 January 2025 10:14
It depends on the roads, I think. It's fine on smooth highways. Throw in some rough patches or ghats however and you will be wishing for better suspension and more power.
How good is the CT125X Drum's build quality to merit "tough as nails" marketing?
15 January 2025 10:14
In some ways it’s tough, but in others it’s not. There's nothing wobbly about the engine and chassis, but everything from the mirrors to the plastic bits feels cheap. It's a mixed bag.
Is the Bajaj CT125X Drum truly the ultimate 'working class hero' bike?
15 January 2025 10:14
Absolutely! The CT125X is a tank that can withstand a beating. I’ve watched delivery guys beat these bikes to death day in and day out, and they just keep on going. It’s not fancy, but it does what it needs to, without breaking the bank.
Is the CT125X Drum’s lack of features actually what some riders want?
15 January 2025 10:14
Bajaj missed an opportunity here, I think. At the very least they could have included at least some basic modern features without jacking up the price too much. It’s a bit too bare bones.
Does the CT125X Drum’s retro look hit or miss?
15 January 2025 10:14
Miss. The design is that of a retro and modern mix, which Bajaj couldn’t decide between, so they just threw everything in together. It looks confused.
Could the CT125X's lack of ABS be a deal breaker for safety conscious riders?
15 January 2025 10:05
The price point is definitely a concern, but you have to remember that. To keep it affordable, there were corners Bajaj had to cut. If you are experienced at riding and know how to brake properly, you can do without ABS.
For riders who wish to customize their bike, how customizable is the CT125X?
15 January 2025 10:05
I’ve seen some pretty neat custom CT125Xs out there. Custom paint jobs, some performance mods like air filters and exhaust systems, and even people have added LED lights. For a budget bike, it’s surprisingly customizable.
How does the CT125X stack up off road compared to more expensive adventure bikes?
15 January 2025 10:05
It won't compete with a proper ADV bike, but the CT125X can do light off roading surprisingly well. I took mine on a few dirt roads and some mild trails, and it did fine. The good thing is that the high ground clearance.
Can the CT125X really work as a long distance tourer?
15 January 2025 10:05
It's all about expectations. If you are used to touring on bigger bikes you will be disappointed. If you’re open to roughing it and you view it as a budget adventure, then the CT125X can be a rewarding way to push the envelope without maxing out the charge card.
Can budget conscious riders afford to get hyped about the Bajaj CT125X?
15 January 2025 10:05
But I think it’s a bit overhyped. This is just a basic commuter, nothing special about it. The ride is pretty stiff, and the seat gets uncomfable on longer rides. If you are mostly doing short trips, then okay, but there are better options if you need versatility.
