The problem is not with the bike, it's the dealers. The Platina is getting a bad name because of poor PDI and service.

Absolutely! The simplicity of the Platina is its strength. Just a reliable engine that keeps going, no fancy electronics to fail. That’s what a commuter bike is about.

Bajaj's just being lazy, nah. Without sacrificing reliability, they could easily add some modern features. The Platina feels old school compared to that others.

It's a tough call. I love that my Platina is still running after 7 years, but can’t help but feel a bit envious when I see newer, more feature rich bikes on the road.

It has great longevity, but Bajaj needs to read the room. These days people want more than just a reliable engine. Nothing wrong with a few modern touches.

For those wanting an inexpensive and low maintenance model, the Platina's basic design is perfect for both rural areas and people living in rural areas. Not everyone wants fancy features, and not everyone needs them.

Bajaj has found a sweet spot, I think. Why fix what isn’t broken? If you are looking for more features then there are plenty of other options.

The Platina's design is timeless. In 10 years it'll still be relevant, and the "modern" bikes of today will be dated. Sometimes, simple is better.
Is the comfort tech of the Bajaj Platina 100 ES really that effective or just some marketing hype?
29 January 2025 09:37
The ComforTec actually works! I can ride over pretty bad roads without being beat up. It’s definitely not luxury car comfort, but it’s much better than any other bikes I’ve ridden at this price.

It's mostly marketing fluff. The ride is fine, but really not much better than any other commuter bike. Bajaj is overselling it.

It's the comfort tech, but only if you're coming from a really basic bike. If you’ve ridden better bikes, you won’t be all that impressed.

I think people don’t realize how much good suspension can make a difference. The Platina’s comfort features are legit if you commute long distances.

It's a budget bike, folks. The ComforTec is better than nothing, but don’t expect miracles. It doesn’t transform your ride, but it takes the edge off.

It depends on your weight and riding style how effective it is. The comfort tech is great for lighter riders that don't push the bike hard. Heavier riders may think it lacks.

I had my doubts, but after a year of ownership I can say the comfort features do help. It’s not a revolutionary bike, but it’s a marked improvement on my old one.
Do some owners claim the Bajaj Platina 100 ES is really the 'king of mileage'?
29 January 2025 09:37
I've had this Platina for 2 years now and I'm always getting around 80-85 kmpl in the city. This isn't the 90+ that Bajaj claims but it's still pretty damn good. The only thing you need to do is ride sensibly and take care of regular maintenance.

King of mileage? More like king of disappointment. Within 6 months my mileage dropped from 85 to barely 60 kmpl. Bajaj's quality control is a laughing stock.

Guys, you can't expect miracles. It is fantastic if you can go even 60-70 kmpl of most bikes out there. If you keep it right, the Platina delivers solid efficiency.

I definitely think that the title of the 'king of mileage' is well earned. For last over a year, I have been getting 90+ kmpl consistently. The trick is to ride smooth and not to accellerate unnecessarilly.

To be real, mileage isn't everything. I would rather have a bike with better performance and comfort that delivers 60 kmpl than extract every drop of fuel from a gutless commuter.
