Can the Platina 110’s claimed 80 kmpl fuel efficiency be achieved in real life?

So far I've found that after the first year the fuel efficiency drops dramatically. Probably due to carbon buildup and general wear.

It is achievable, but what would it cost? Riding conservatively is no fun. I would prefer a little less efficiency and a little more power.

5 years old and still smooth, my Platina has been running. It's just regular maintenance and it's all good. The build quality can’t be complained about.

Not Honda level, but decent. After a couple years of use the switches and plastics definitely feel cheaper.

I believe a lot depends on how you take care of it. If you take care of a Platina, it will last as long as any Japanese bike.

Solid engine and frame but little things like the stand spring or clutch cable seem to wear out more often than on my friend's Honda.

The Platina actually seems to hold up better in rusty conditions, in my experience. Fewer parts to be that fancy chrome and corrode.

It's a mixed bag. There are some parts that are surprisingly durable, and others that feel like they’re meant to be replaced. But for the money, it's not bad.

I've had both and the difference is not as big as people try to make it seem. After a few years, the Platina feels about 90 percent as good as a Honda, but for a fraction of the price.

There's definitely worse paint quality on the Japanese bikes. I had my Platina start to scratch and fade much earlier.

It's all about expectations. The build quality is very nice for the price. Of course, if you compare it to a bike that costs 30% more, it won't feel premium.
Is the extra cost for the Bajaj Platina 110 ABS worth it?
29 January 2025 09:42
Absolutely worth it! The ABS kicked in perfectly, and I’ve had a few close calls in the rain. For new riders, it’s a lifesaver.

Nah, it's overkill for a 110cc. More important is good brakes and rider skill. Don’t save the cash, get better tires.

Bajaj's implementation is meh, I think it's a great feature. Higher end bikes feel much more solid than my friend's Platina ABS.

It’s not just safety, it’s confidence. Knowing you have ABS relieves you as a more relaxed rider in tricky conditions.
Is the extra cost for the Bajaj Platina 110 ABS worth it?

It’s not just the initial price that’s extra cost – you’ve got to also factor in the potential repair costs down the line. That trouble might be ABS on a budget bike.
Is the extra cost for the Bajaj Platina 110 ABS worth it?

If you ride in heavy traffic or wet conditions often, I’d say it’s worth it. For rural areas with less traffic, probably not necessary.
Is the extra cost for the Bajaj Platina 110 ABS worth it?

The ABS is nice but I feel they could have made other things on the bike better. In my opinion better suspension would do more for safety.
This is the reason why Bajaj discontinued the Platina 110 ABS so soon.

I bet chip shortages are the reason. Those fancy chips are what ABS needs, and they're probably putting it on higher end models, sadly.

Maybe it didn't sell well? For example, people usually buy 110cc bikes because they are super price conscious. Perhaps the ABS version was too expensive for the target market.
