About
The Toyota Etios Liva is a compact hatchback designed with practicality and comfort in mind. It features a spacious interior with ample room for five adults, thanks to its well-packaged cabin and flat floor. The car is equipped with a range of engines, including a 1.2-liter petrol and a 1.4-liter diesel, both paired with a manual transmission. The Etios Liva stands out for its robust safety features, including dual-front airbags, ABS with EBD, and ISOFIX child seat mounts, which are standard across all variants. The car also offers a smooth ride due to its well-tuned suspension and has a user-friendly design with easy-to-reach controls. While it may lack some modern amenities and has a somewhat basic interior design, the Etios Livas reliability, safety, and low maintenance costs make it a compelling choice for family buyers in India.

Our take on this /// Verdict
The Toyota Etios Liva is a practical and reliable choice for those seeking a no-frills, comfortable, and spacious hatchback. While it may not excel in terms of styling or performance, it compensates with its robust build, excellent safety features, and hassle-free ownership experience. The Liva boasts a roomy interior that can comfortably accommodate five adults, along with a well-tuned suspension that ensures a smooth ride. However, the cars design is somewhat lackluster, and it misses out on modern features like a touchscreen infotainment system and push-button start. Despite these shortcomings, the Etios Livas strong safety package, including standard dual-front airbags, ABS with EBD, and ISOFIX child seat mounts, makes it a solid option for family buyers prioritizing safety and reliability.
Price
The Toyota Etios Liva is priced competitively in the Indian market. The ex-showroom prices start from around Rs. 5.68 lakh for the base petrol variant and go up to Rs. 7.85 lakh for the top-of-the-line diesel variant. On-road prices, including taxes and other costs, can range from approximately Rs. 6.5 lakh to Rs. 9.5 lakh, depending on the state and local taxes. This pricing makes the Etios Liva an attractive option for those looking for a value-for-money package with comprehensive safety features and low ownership costs. However, its important to note that prices can vary slightly based on the region and any additional features or accessories chosen.
Latest Updates

Toyota has announced that it will be discontinuing the Etios Liva soon, marking the end of an era for this entry-level hatchback in the Indian market. The Etios Liva was known for its spacious cabin, comfortable seating, and fuel-efficient engines. I believe this move is a strategic decision to focus on more modern and competitive models.

In 2018, Toyota introduced a limited edition of the Etios Liva with red accents, aiming to boost sales and attract more buyers. This limited edition featured cosmetic updates and was priced competitively. I think this was a good attempt to revamp the model, but it ultimately couldnt save it from being phased out.

Toyota Kirloskar Motor launched the updated Etios and Etios Liva in 2013, featuring a refreshed exterior design with a redesigned grille, new indicators on side view mirrors, and a classic grey paint option. The interiors also got a makeover with new fabrics, a 2 Din audio system, and improved AC controls. I believe these updates helped give the model a more youthful and trendy look, but it still lagged behind in terms of modern features.

The Etios Liva TRD Sportivo, introduced in 2013, was a variant designed by Toyota Racing Development (TRD) and featured a 1.5-liter petrol engine producing 90 PS, ABS, dual airbags, and 15-inch smoked alloys. This variant was aimed at the younger demographic and added a sporty edge to the lineup. I think this was a great move to appeal to a different segment of buyers, but it didnt quite achieve the desired impact.

When the Etios Liva was first launched in June 2011, it was part of Toyotas global plan to introduce vehicles designed for emerging markets. The car was praised for its standard safety features, including dual-front airbags, ABS with EBD, and ISOFIX child seat mounts. I believe the emphasis on safety was a significant selling point, but the models overall appeal was limited by its lackluster styling and missing modern features.
Mileage
Thursday, 21 November 2024 05:33 PM
The Toyota Etios Liva offers impressive fuel efficiency, making it a cost-effective choice for daily driving. The petrol variant delivers an ARAI-certified mileage of 18.16 kmpl, while the diesel variant achieves a mileage of 23.59 kmpl. In real-world conditions, owners have reported mileage figures close to these numbers, especially after the initial services. This fuel efficiency, combined with the cars reliable engine, makes the Etios Liva a great option for those concerned about running costs and mileage.

Now there's a competition.Etios is a good car but Whenever a new model is introduced, there's always the bug in mechanical parts i.e(Engine,Transmission, steering rack & suspension etc)It will take time for Toyota to introduce a refine model, till then we have to purchase this beta version then we will tell them the problem we have with the vehicle, then they are gonna introduce rectified version. Its the fact.
Toyota etios liva-
we can also call it as The BAAP of all hatchbacks in India.
toyota engg.- world class
comfort and ride quality- A+
looks(interior and exterior)- beauty
fuel economy- good
price-affordable
and the dealers gives information about everything like offers, discounts and accessories in very clear way not like other brands dealers.
Toyota is known as the #1 car manufacturer in japan and also most of the american roads are covered by this brand . while suzuki comes on 3rd or 4th place in japan and mostly manufactures sports bikes. here in India we buy maruti suzuki cars only after the name of MARUTI not on SUZUKI.
So, be wisely before buy your first car
Nice interiors, it could have been more spacious if certain changes have been made. value for money vehicle. power steering would have made it more competant .
This car looks awesome than the toyota etios. This car will be a sure hit in the Indian market and will move onto the other countries with a cheap car and a great demand.
