About
The Tata Xenon XT Double Cab is a pick-up truck designed to serve multiple purposes, from weekend getaways to frequent visits to farmhouses or business use. It features an Independent Double Wishbone suspension with coil springs at the front and parabolic leaf springs at the rear, which, while providing stability, can result in a bumpy ride over uneven terrain. The 2.2L Dicor engine produces 140 BHP and is known for its smooth performance and good response in both city and highway driving. The vehicle boasts a spacious cabin, though the rear seats are upright and lack adequate leg space. It also comes with features like ABS, EBD, and an electronic 4WD switch, making it capable off-road. However, issues with service support, door rattling, and the absence of airbags need to be considered. The exterior design is imposing and commanding, drawing attention on the road. Overall, the Xenon XT is a versatile vehicle that balances power and space but requires careful consideration of its drawbacks.

Our take on this /// Verdict
The Tata Xenon XT Double Cab is a robust and capable pick-up truck that caters to a specific niche in the Indian market. While it excels in its off-road capabilities and provides ample space for both passengers and cargo, it has several drawbacks that potential buyers should consider. The vehicles 2.2L Dicor engine delivers good performance, especially in 4x4 mode, making it suitable for challenging terrains. However, the ride quality is compromised due to the rear leaf springs, which can make the ride bumpy, especially over speed breakers. The interior, though spacious, lacks comfort for long drives, with upright rear seats and limited leg space. Additionally, issues with service support, consistent rattling of door pads, and the absence of airbags are significant concerns. Despite its imposing exterior and good engine performance, the overall package is marred by these shortcomings, making it a mixed bag for potential buyers.
Price
The price of the Tata Xenon XT Double Cab in India varies based on the location and any additional features or customizations. As of the last available data, the ex-showroom price for the Tata Xenon XT EX 4x4 was around Rs. 8,58,222. However, the on-road price can be significantly higher, typically ranging between Rs. 10 to 12 lakhs, depending on the states taxes and other local charges. This pricing puts the Xenon in a competitive but slightly premium segment within the pick-up truck market in India. Its important to note that the value-for-money aspect is debatable, given the mixed reviews on its overall quality and service support.
