About
The Tata Indigo eCS Diesel LX is a compact sedan that has been a staple in the Indian market for over a decade. It is powered by a 1.4-litre CR4 common rail diesel engine, producing 70 PS of power and 140 Nm of torque, paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. The vehicle is known for its spacious cabin, comfortable low-speed ride quality, and good bad road ability, making it suitable for semi-urban and rural areas. Features include keyless entry, central locking, power windows, and a tachometer, though it lacks modern amenities like airbags. The Indigo eCS has a reputation for being reliable and fuel-efficient, making it a favorite among fleet operators and budget-conscious buyers. However, its outdated design and limited features mean it trails behind its more modern competitors in terms of overall appeal and driving experience.

Our take on this /// Verdict
The Tata Indigo eCS Diesel LX, while showing its age, still holds some appeal, particularly for those prioritizing fuel efficiency and a comfortable ride. The 1.4-litre CR4 diesel engine is a highlight, offering a smooth and frugal driving experience, especially in city conditions. However, the vehicle lacks modern features and safety amenities, such as airbags, which are now standard in many of its competitors. The ride quality is commendable, especially on rough roads, but handling at high speeds can be a bit nervy. For fleet operators or those on a tight budget, the Indigo eCS remains a viable option, but for private buyers seeking more contemporary features and better overall performance, there are more appealing alternatives available.
Price
The Tata Indigo eCS Diesel LX is priced in the range of Rs 5.09 lakh to Rs 6.28 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). When considering on-road prices, you can expect to add around Rs 1 lakh to Rs 1.2 lakh, depending on the state and local taxes, bringing the total to approximately Rs 6.09 lakh to Rs 7.48 lakh. This pricing positions the Indigo eCS competitively in the sub-4 metre compact sedan segment, although it faces stiff competition from more modern offerings like the Hyundai Xcent, Honda Amaze, and Maruti Suzuki Dzire. Despite its age, the Indigo eCS offers good value for money, especially for those looking for a no-frills, fuel-efficient sedan.
Mileage
Thursday, 21 November 2024 03:44 PM
The mileage of the Tata Indigo eCS Diesel LX is one of its strongest selling points. With an ARAI-certified mileage of 25 kmpl, this vehicle is highly fuel-efficient. In real-world conditions, you can expect around 16-17 kmpl in city driving and up to 20 kmpl on highways. This makes it an excellent choice for those concerned about running costs and fuel efficiency, particularly for long-distance driving or for fleet operations.

AGAR INDIGO ECS RACING MODEL NIKLE TO YE BEST SEDAN HO JAYEGA SABSE KAM PRICE PAR . INDIGO IS BETTER ECS IS BETTER THAN FIAT PUNTO. HAMARE PAS PUNTO AUR INDIGO HAI LEKIN CHALANEKA MAZA INDIGO MEIN ZYADA ATA HAI AUR ISKA PRICE BHI KAM HAI AUR COMFORT BHI ZYADA HAI. SO GO FOR IT AGAR APKA BUDGET 6.5 LACKS HAI TO NAHI TO GO FOR MANZA.
I own an Indigo CS Dicor (2008 model) to which I have fitted a dragon electronic tuning box for enhanced engine performance and better mileage. The new E CS has a much refined and almost silent version of the Tata dicor engine which was certainly not a failure. My car offers a combination of excellent mileage, power and driving comfort.
A few days ago it also perfomed admirably in the Kumaon hills where the roads had been washed away last year. Even during a continuous downpour the car did not disappoint. I recommend this car to anyone who wishes to get good value for his or her money. Beyond 50 kms/hr it is a breeze to drive on the highway and never goes into an excessive power steering even at speeds above 100kms/hr. The boot is not very large but enough to carry a lot of luggage and its rear seat can be double folded forward to creat enormous space in the back of the cabin.
Can anybody tell me how to use the bluetooth ready music system of this car?
Best Wishes for 2011.
This is to specify that myself is planning for a Sedan / Saloon, and is interested in TATA INDIGO eCS.
With my monthly running about 1000-1200 Kms, Pls. advise, Should I go for PETROL or DIESEL?.
Most of my Near & Dear one's are suggesting me to opt for a TATA DIESEL, as TATA is known for the Diesel vehicles, But As a first choice I like only Petrol Engines, as DIESEL's make a lot of noise. Pls. let me know how good a TATA PETROL Is,?.
Thanking you.

Great car & shere value for money, Average in city is between 17-20 kmpl which is much better than it's competitors.
Its a very nice car.
Went to showroom to take test drive of Indigo Manza and Indigo CS Elx new one. Indigo CS is good but it makes some good amount of sound. want to take cs tdi test drive also. heard it is old and dependable. earlier launch of tata's dicor engine had failed. This new bs4 engine in cs is the same one with minor changes. Apart from that new one is costlier than old tdi one by about 45 thousand rupees.
Nice car having less price.
